Nevertheless good performance by them over the course of the tournament n their fighting spirit to keep on plugging despite the huge deficit is a credit to their players. France has home support advantage.

 

They have a proven winner in coach Didier Deschamps who won the World Cup 1998 and Euro 2000.

 

Present French national team with fresh faces seems to be quite harmonious unlike those tumultous days under Raymond Domenech in 2010 where Nicolas Anelka quarrelled openly with the coach and the players subsequently go on strike.

 

Germany normally play the 4-2-3-1 system under Joachim Low. Germany surprisingly used the 3-5-2 playing formation against Italy who used the same formation under Conte; and they scrap through on penalty shootout although they should have won in FT if not for Boateng's mistake.

 

For the Germany vs France match, the question is will Germany use their 4-2-3-1 against France preferred 4-3-3 formation. Whatever the tactics, my take will be that France has a lot more to prove and therefore more motivated, more hungry. France will go to the game with a slight advantage and this may tilt the final outcome.
