Despite 2 atrocious penalties by the experienced Muller n Schweinsteiger n an unlucky miss by Ozil, they still prevailed! Have never seen a German penalty shoot out defeat n thought could see one this morning but not to be. Schweinsteiger won both toss for choosing ends n who to kick first n surprisingly he chose to kick at the Italian fans end and also to let Italy kick first which defies footballing convention as it's supposed to be an advantage to kick at your fans end with them cheering you on n also kicking first means the other team is always chasing so slight advantage but Germany knows better than anyone else where penalties are concerned and also The footballing Gods must be German haha 5 Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

I guess I didn't miss much...watched the highlights on espn post game...The Italians appeared very cautious. Great desperate reflex from Buffon against Gomez back heel attempt and that epic flying horse leg back flick save from a defender. PS is always Germany forte...but this time round, not only been saved but missed target.
