yeah... as suspected. Maybe he can consider going next door where the Japanese counter lady will bow and greet him. The Lexus SE will have all the attention on him explaining the ins and outs of the NX200t? :D

He drives a 5-series, maybe his expectation was more white-gloved treatment. His complain was the sales lady was not proactive, maybe not responding to his questions because busy collecting cheques.

Yes to think about it, the Japanese lady was quite impressive - she could remember my name and which sales person I was looking for the second time I went down to put my deposit and the sales person (Nicholas) was most helpful.

That's her only job... but she does a damn fine job out of it I must say! :D

In my opinion S$20k margin per car are a little thin.

I think it's much much higher, not to mention support revenue following each sale.

The recent move to muscle into this specific sector is clear indication of motive to kill of the PI.

In one fell swoop, not only PI are impacted. Other car manufacturers must go back to the drawing board.

Personally, I was considering other SUV, till I chances upon the Harrier Turbo.

Unfortunately for other manufacturers, the impact may not be felt till the numbers come in the next few months.

BM's current drawback is only the bloody long lengthy delivery time. Still trying to understand why my booking on the 30th June vs another bro's booking here on this forum on the 24th have lead delivery time to slipped to Oct.

In my view this only indicate that the allocation to SG is rather limited...

It also depends on your choice of color..

Any idea what is the scrap value for the new BM Harrier? Is $15k a good estimate?

20k +/-

Most likely.

That's true.. when I placed my book I was told that estimated delivery for Blue is Aug/early Sep... but if choose another color (of my wife's choice) it's then Sep/Oct...

400 units. Assume 20k margin per car.

Simplistically speaking, That's 800k in one month!

That would be $8000K simplistically in this simple calculation

Huat ah!
Reminds me of Inner Circle's song lyrics:

Girl I'm gonna make you sweat... Sweat till you can't sweat no more... And if you cry out, I'm gonna push it some moreeeeeeeeeee

20k margin is fairly reasonable for a car with around 33k omv, the volvo s90 t5 with a 37k omv has list price of 225k.

Volvo is rip-off most of the time.

Volvo cars are good but overpriced. Hopefully prices head south when they are all made in china

The power and pickup is good enough for me. Overtaking is much easier now as can accelerate fast and always first off blocks at traffic lights

Haha. Then pay more at Lexus and get ass kissed lor. Some people think their $1 like a bullock cart wheel.

Volvo is rip-off most of the time.

You get ripped buying new, ripped with poor resale and ripped with expensive spares.
