That's the difference..

Some threads are full of what's wrong with the car, what is this noise / rattle / squeak..

Toyota threads are more about what's this function and how wonderful the car is.

Folks may whack their designs, their boring interior etc, but there is a reason why 'boring' cars like the Camry or Corolla occupy the top ten selling year in, year out.

Well said bro

If i did not understand wrongly from what my fren (who worked in BM) said, BM actually goes back to Toyota for all warranty claims. Sort of like back to back warranty from Toyota to BM to owners.

There is also why BM has been so lenient when it comes to warranty claims.

Good to hear about all these positive feedbacks on BM.

I have owned one Lexus and 2 Toyota cars before, never had any issues with those 3 cars.

Going back to factory for claims is normal. At least they have a good system and hornor all the customers for real.

In some companies, This cannot, that cannot......make ppl angry only.

BM servicing is more lenient in term of warranty claims. Years back when I was driving a corolla, my brake disc rotor, suspension and air con control system all suffer from damages when my millage hit about 98K in less then 3 years. At that time the warranty was on 3years or 100Km which ever come first.

On top on that I only did my service in BM for the first year. When I went in to claim the warranty for the mechanical failure of all this parts, the SE was kind enough to help me to get all the approval to have it repair for FREE inclusive of labour charges.

I wasn't prepare for them to honour all the warranty claim as I did not send in my car for servicing after the first year, yet they honour all the warranty claim . I was quite impressed and appreciate with their professionalism in handling warranty claim.

Just for the info. the total damage for the claim was about 3.5K and it was totally free for me. Kudos the BM service team.

Yeah.....and it's why I have been with them since 2003.....feels good Anytime we walk in.

I am also told by relative that part of the reason they return to Nissan is because TCM have always provided reliable service.

And often times the feedback regarding BM after care is positive.

Meanwhile I cannot wholeheartedly praise the aftercare my vehicle gets even if the car itself continues to have me smitten.  [shakehead]

Going back to factory for claims is normal. At least they have a good system and hornor all the customers for real.

I believe that also BM gets more genuine support from their partner, that is to say the manufacturer Toyota, because they enjoy a domineering market position and Toyota is willing to assist them.

With my minority brand, every little thing not much information available.

A clear example of just how supportive Toyota is of BM is the very fact that we are getting an official BM Harrier. It is even specifically described as customized for Singapore with English language displays and localized head unit software.

They are confident in potential sales and willing to invest the development for our market despite the Harrier being traditionally exclusively JDM.

Me, cannot even get navigation option.  [:|]

I guess the Harrier buyer is more akin to a luxury car buyer?

The average corolla buyer is adverse to functions and prefers their cars simple, claiming this reduces costs and repair risks ..

so they don't ask for USB,folding mirrors and other kit which are now found in many basic cars.

This is reality. I would say the population of smart phone users in SG is almost 90%. So, USB is a necessity!

Corolla uncles and aunties have to play candy crush or catch pokemon right?

Glowing accolades for BM....... Makes me want to buy a BM vehicle just to enjoy their service. :D

But u did b4 in ur GS wat. Did they wait on hand and foot on u?

Last time I was with BM was a good 3-4 years ago.....from the glowing review and show of support for their service plus the fact that they had a recent change in management, I thought something has changed during this period.... [:p]

Anyway, based on my ownership experience, if one place reliability above all else, Toyota/Lexus is the way to go. That said, with such reliable products to sell and to give aftersale support to is not as difficult or onerous as those AD supporting french/conti makes.

Are u experiencing culture shock at C&C vs BM?

Have not even gone for my 5K tire rotation not to mention my first servicing for my current car.

But that said, I did own a w203 c350 for about 2 yrs (prior to my GS), C&C pandan pretty decent. Reasonable AD level quotes for parts and repairs, service slot booking readily available  (had at least 2 instances that BM told me it was ok to get the earliest available slot which was 6 weeks away when my servicing was due NOW).

IMHO, ADs just need to get their basics right, provide warranty claims without fuss, decent pricing and wait time. The rest of the frills I can do without. I buy my cars for the cars they are and not their AD.

Bro, of course you cannot be buying a Merc and asking BM to service. We'll need to talk about BM and their cars on the overall. For me, Altis upgrade to Camry then to Lexus.....who knows, next maybe RX or GS or LX but it can also be Mercs or others unless not satisfied on the overall.

Haha, honestly.......I did also consider the A6 but not sure of how their service will be like.....maybe next time you go service invite me go to look see [:p]  [laugh] .

But it is also the all round look that counts which I feel comfortable.....so to each his own.

Some small penny pinching - not a big deal, but that's how Toyota saves $$:

- only 6 months road tax

- no USB in the armrest

- no pedal shifts

- no rain sensor in the base model

- no shopping hooks

- fewer 12v points than other lux cars

- no Carplay

- 1 year servicing free now

But you enjoy the savings too I guess, when you compare it to the Lexus cousins or the Conti rivals...
