Hard for buyer to take advantage but easier for dealer to take advantage on lower COE before VES.

Buyer bought the car with high COE price but getting the car with lower COE value.

My colleague just bought his 1.5cc ride from a PI and the PI is giving him the Open CAT last COE of $54 k for his hybrid car. He asked me if it is worth or value for money, i am not sure I told him. What shld I tell him?

gosh the size are just too so small when compre to K3.

it's worth it cause now COE for cat B is only 46k vs his open cat COE of 54k so on paper he earn 8k already

Isn't Open Cat COE used on Cat B car, will have the value of Cat B COE premium even tho dealer paid more for an Open Cat? I could be wrong tho :)

The COE follows the Categorry the car is registered in. So in this case will be $46k. What the PI paid for Open Cat does not affect the paper value.

Both cars from different segment. Fairer comparison will be Honda City. Anyway more important is the tandem distance rather than exterior size.

Of course it is worthwhile.  PI is paying more for less lor.

 

LTA will collect the higher of the 2 CAT for that bidding cycle and will REBATE the lower of 2 CAT.  Take note.

For the same bidding cycle.  CAT E 54K is 2nd Nov bid.  CAT B is 53711 lor .......

Finally figured out the VES naming scheme. It is based on GCE 'O' level result. A1 being distinction, followed by A2,  C grade is room for improvement.   

Are there any cars in Cat A that scored distinction?  Popular models (Altis, elantra 'missed by 1 mark', k3) seems to be struggling to get a B. Hybrids, generally, flunked their exams.

Think open cat only valid for 3 months ... maybe this PI got to use it before expired ?

When comes to scrapping is base off that month COE of that cat which ever is lower ?

 

I recall there were some that got badly s@rew when they try to scrap their open cat and it was tag to less then few K .

no is based on your car's registered COE as stated in your car details
