VES 2018

Then COE would collapse, resulting in low prevailing premium and many would renew COEs. Result would be more old polluting cars remain on the road for 10 more years!

Just like the case of commercial vehicles some years back.

Indeed well thought out policy change...

Oredi say long time ago it's not abt the 'environment' bah....

SINGAPORE - From next month, cars displayed in showrooms must bear a new Vehicular Emissions label, aimed at helping buyers make informed decisions.

The new label, issued by both the Land Transport Authority (LTA) and the National Environment Agency (NEA), will replace the existing Fuel Economy label.

This is in line with the new Vehicular Emissions Scheme (VES) - which comes into effect on Jan 1 and replaces the existing Carbon Emissions-Based Vehicular Scheme.

Lmao Altis is neutral?? BM SE told me few months ago it will likely +$10000k come Jan 1.

Now it is confirmed by LTA that Altis is neutral. I have pointed out in previous price list of BM in the sgcarmart it is +$10K but since Dec17 the price list is showing neutral. Hope those who sign back then will not have to bear that extra $10K.

Then I think Komoco will fist hand fast leg bring in accent to compete

The only category where Komoco can compete is in d and c segment

*new 2018 accent hor, not the outgoing accent now

This is why we seem many Elantra buyers getting their COE even when on NG package the last few rounds.

How come the difference between Honda Vezel vs Honda HRV? Vezel still gets the $10k rebate in the new VES (no change) yet HRV suffer a difference in $5k increase? Both should be same engine and same country of manufacturing?

The pricing is just indicative. Might be the testing was done on different wheel sizing. I recalled thats how the Toyota Altis Eco got its rebate as well by using smaller wheel size achieving better emission results.

Lmao Altis is neutral?? BM SE told me few months ago it will likely +$10000k come Jan 1.

From what I understand, Altis was initially slapped with a $10k VES surcharge as one of their readings were borderline over the limit n LTA has now given them n some other ADs who had similar borderline readings a 6mths moratorium n they will thus be initially 0 VES till proven one way or other n hence Borneo has now revised their Altis pricing accordingly. What will happen after 6mths is really hard to tell.

Now it is confirmed by LTA that Altis is neutral. I have pointed out in previous price list of BM in the sgcarmart it is +$10K but since Dec17 the price list is showing neutral. Hope those who sign back then will not have to bear that extra $10K.

Wow. With the price, the Bread and Butter cars doesn't seemed too buttery.

Gov't is forcing those who can only afford B&B Car switch to Public Transport, you see,a Rolls Royce just pay $20,000 while some B&B Cars pay $5,000...in VES.

Emissions banding for new cars to be displayed in showrooms from Jan 1

SINGAPORE — Car buyers will get help in identifying where the models they are eyeing stand when more stringent vehicle emissions standards kick in from Jan 1, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) announced on Thursday (Dec 21).

Starting January, the ONE.MOTORING website will show the Vehicle Emissions Scheme (VES) bands of various car models, as well as their fuel efficiency.

Bro, CEVS have 5k but VES only 10k, 20k, garment up already and rich cars reduce from +30k to +20k.

According to Torque's Christopher Tan (Carbon Conundrum article), this VES ironically may worsen climate change instead of saving the environment.

VES killed hybrid. Hybrid enjoyed $30K rebate CEVS, under VES attracts $10K extra; $40K diff, who wants to save the earth?

Cat B buyers held back because their +$30K CEVS going to be $0 under VES.

Earlier, Euro 6 killed many models, until some AD got no car to sell. There is almost no car to buy at the moment.

So what is the scholar rational verdict?

I had been in china for the past 1 week+.

Seeing so many full electric and hybrid car on the road.

So many electric car charging point at public car park.

We are really falling far behind.

No need need to said about the cashless payment here.
