If COE soften then more people will renew COE instead, lesser replacement COE. :)

The purpose is to encourage more green cars.

They cannot be just taking away the CEVS rebates and not give something back right?

I hope they will come out with the right scheme soon and make the Hybrid cars cheaper. CHR is coming in with BM and hope this rebates can help to soften the price. If BM sells the CHR like their Prius (@$132K....they crazy right?), then CHR will continue to be a PI thing.

LTA/NEA now on December leave?

Fact: BM is not a charity organization. It's business objective is to maximise profits for its shareholders.

The CHR is deemed a higher model, compared to Prius.

So CHR launch price will definitely be >> Prius

I find it funny that none of the car manufacturers are taking advantages of the new VES 2018 rebates. This will actually help them to sell their cars cheaper.

Either the Govt makes it very difficult (so to collect more taxes) or these car manufacturers are lazy.

I really hope that hybrid cars can enjoy the VES rebates soon and bring the Hybrid cars prices down and compete against the petrol cars.

Isn't this what the Govt advocates? Greener environment?

Or just Talk Cock Sing Song only?

u think dealer will say: "we sell cheaper, since money enough liao"?

all dealers will makan the rebates UNLESS they selling unpopular cars which need lower prices to push sales.

Have to point out latest price from BM price list Prius selling at 167k.. :o

Advocating a greener environment ... yes!ðð¼

But the garmen can do it in various ways.

Examples:

- less pollutive engines ... hybrids, electric. Out with the diesels first! ðð¼

AND

- decimating the total number of cars on our roads. Shift the majority toward public transport. ðð¼

The silent majority demands for BOTH!

So there you go ... cut back the COE quota and make cars very painfully costly to purchase and maintain in Singapore!

Free up our roads, to reduce traffic pollution.

Go green. Save Gaia! ðð¼

Yesssss! ðð¼

ððð

And then all it takes is for one Malaysian truck to spew lots of euro1 diesel from their non euro complaint Diesel engine then all is negated.

All it takes is one nuke testing and years of effort would have gone down the drain.

I have make this comparing CEVS and VES based on just CO2 only. Looks like those hybrid <95g/km are quite badly impact. Majority of 96-160g/km are not really that bad ($5k diff only, assuming other emissions are in line), only those >160g/km sees $10k or above increase.
