Look at omv for both and you will have your answer.

In the first place, this kind need of sales tactic is to herd buyers towards 7seaters where they expect the bulk of sales to be. Those insisting on 5 seaters just have to pay the "premium" for standing out from the crowd.

Ya, I was asking about the 5 seater but he SE kept telling my wife the cons of CRV 5 seaters.

very basic model. might as well pay $30k less and get the HRV with full features.

Or pay $10k more and get 8 seater Odyssey.

BTW, they have open cat in hand. If I sign, I can collect car immediately.

So, I hope this round will still drop.

yup agree with you bro. the higher upfront price will impact on an interest charge component, due to higher loan needed.  looking at the 18k OMV example again, the difference to depreciation is 5k, as difference between before and after July reg car for scrap value is 4k vs 9k (assuming 10k rebate becomes neutral).

Also noticed that Toyota may be the only AD that has officially announced which models will have added rebates or surcharge come July.  This is probably due to some models maybe sold out and not able to be registered in June, just my guess.  can see from the last price list here - http://www.sgcarmart.com/new_cars/newcars_pricelist_listing.php

Wah! Vios and Altis also kena $10k.

So, Toyota car no longer environmentally friendly?

Or is it because, both are MIT where the cars are not certified from the factory.

Those car from MIJ, already certified and comply to Jipun standard. So when come to SG, LTA recognized the cert.

Not surprising.

Even the Prius hybrid already got penalty.

Tell me if I'm wrong.  The current VES rebates that are built into the price will be negated at end of life as the 10k is deducted from the Parf value.  Eg currently, enjoy 10k rebate off the cost of your car now, but come scrap time, 18K (OMV value) - 10k = 8k = 4k (final scrap value).  So the point is after the "removal" of this rebate, the car price is hiked up 10k, the depreciation is the same anyway! so what is the point of rushing to register this car to enjoy the so called "rebate" now?

I think there is a  $5k difference.  Using your example, OMV = $18k:

Say car price = $100k with $10k rebate, depreciation = 100k-4k = 96k

After removal of $10k rebate:

Car price = $110k, depreciation =110k-9k = 101k.

Agree on the 5k difference both on the increased retail price n without rebate. Due the the stepped phases in implementation grey areas and confusion have been created in the market.or maybe it's just me. Thanks for helping with the maths!

on maximum rebate no matter what value if less than $5000, the minimum ARF to pay is S$5000.

so deregister getting back 50% of ARF paid = S$2500.

so that should be use as basic to check depreciation + loan interest + etc ..

Nowadays, can't look at PARF only.

The best is to look at depreciation.

What you said is only true if $10k is not included in the sales price.

The July VES affects vehicles registered from July. So if I already paid my deposit for my new car and AD is bidding for COE tomorrow, and managed to get COE but only registered car in July, then how? Or is it based on the date the COE obtained?

whatever price that dealer sell you is the price you pay lor

no matter the car is registered before or after jul

unless the sales agreement stated to top up VES after Jul which i dont think so

dealer selling price is already taken into consideration when they can register the car

ves is based on car registration date

that’s why many cars were registered in dec 17 before 1st Jan to siam VES

just realized LTA have update the VES include info for PM limit..

attachicon.gifVES.JPG

Hi There, thks for the new info. Any idea where to check the PM (Particulate Matter) Value of the car?

E.g, on specs of cars, in sgcm, only CO2 emission value is stated.

Taking Honda City for e.g:-

On sgcm, CO2 emission = 133g/km

On KM, 4 types are stated :-

CO2 Emission g/km 135 Carbon Monoxide (CO) g/km 0.127 Hydrocarbons (HC) g/km 0.02 Nitrogen Oxides (NOx) g/km 0.002
