I am using Sony Xperia something.  Lost count. Whenever dead and out of warranty, I just go and get the next smallest Sony.  One less thing to think about.

am using Xperia Z3 and Z5 now. quite happy.

will use the Z3 until Android 6 is no longer supported,

Eligible for recontract soon, so thinking of changing phone..

I've been a Huawei fan for last 7-8 years, Mate 8, Mate 9, Mate 10, and now Mate 20X. But too bad it does not come with GMS now so I'm looking at alternatives

1. Xiaomi 11

2. Samsung S21 ultra

3. One plus 9

4. Oppo X3

What will be your choice if price is not an issue?

No doubt, S21 ultra. It's just the best all rounder.
Though Xiaomi mi11 ultra is arguably better on specs. But it is a big phone.

Oneplus 9 pro is ok not bad, if u accept the slightly worse camera. But u get SD888 instead of Exynos here in SG.

Oppo looks good on paper, but there are some frustrating issues if u read reviews.

i dont have battery problem with mine. usually 3 to 4 hours of screentime till 15% for a 2 year old phone. One good thing about one plus is the regular security and OS updates.

Just get an iphone 12pro max and sell it for a profit.

hmm usually standard nowadays is u get 2+ years of Os upgrade from date of phone release. Then up to 4-5 years of security update.

Samsung has it, oneplus also. Xiaomi can't remember.

Lol whats with the fascination with sony.

I've used sony for 2 years before way back when my S3 screen cracked. It's an inferior phone to Samsung in every way even when they were competitive.

Sony is one of the more uncompetitive phone companies out there. Even the reviewers admitted they gave up reviewing their products. Sony doesn't even ensure there is stock available for purchase on launch.

If i wanted a cheap phone, i would get a  Poco or Xiaomi Redmi note pro 10 (though it's not 5G capable). Depending on whether u want best overall value, or the fastest snapdragon processor in a budget phone.
Think 5g will need the redmi note 10 lite or something.

was a Sony Ericsson user even before Xperia came around.

enjoyed my $0 Xperia Z from Singtel for many years until Android 4 could no longer be supported. battery is lasting and the Sony UI is lite.

been buying flagship Sony Xperias a year after their initial launch, price will be much cheaper than the initial launch price.

guess only thing is the heating issue which I understand is common in earlier Snapdragon 8xx models.

Yes, I'm actually just taking advantage of the contract renewal cos I'm on corporate plan. Quite happy with my current Huawei Mate 20x. Shame on the ban if not i will be on Huawei.

I'm now torn between S21 ultra, and xiaomi mi11 ultra. Will just wait till end of month if Xiaomi ultra not going to be available in local telco, then will just get the S21 ultra. My only concern is the samsung software/bloatware.

If u want lite UI, oxygen OS on oneplus lightest already.

If u buy a camera, get a Sony. If u buy a noise cancelling headphone, get a sony. If u buy a TV, u can consider a Sony. If u buy a handphone, please don't buy a Sony [laugh]

Xiaomi has more bloat/software than Samsung. But some can be deleted.

HW just too bad. But that allowed Xiaomi to rise back to the top of the Chinese market.

I've been wanting to change my phone for a while. But S21 Ultra has no place to store an S-pen. Have to wait for Note 21.
Note 20ultra is actually quite ok, but the Exnyos processor there is significantly slower than the SD875 version. Whereas the S21 Ultra Exynos is closer to the SD888, but still slows down after thermal throttling. Note20 ultra maybe the last Samsung flagship to have microSD card though.

Mi11 ultra doesnt have microSD also.
256gb i feel is too little without expandable storage especially with apps + videos nowadays. But 512gb is prohibitively expensive.

yes the latest MIUI is quite good. Though think my wife's Mi8 no longer supported. She's happy with the phone anyway still. 3 years old like my phone.

You advertise on carousell then?

X3 or F3

the big joke is Sony sells more cmos sensors than handphones.

am used to Sony's brick design phones so its still my go to brand when I need to get a replacement.

Sony's HP department is like the unwanted ugly sibling of the family.

It's kept even though its loss making for many years so that it ties in to their ecosystem of TV/cameras/entertainment devices. [laugh] And well, some japanese are still willing to buy a japanese brand HP, even though most of them use apple or samsungs already.

Well it's a conglomerate lah. So some divisions are bound to do worse than others. It's not playstation, not their camera/sensor, TVs. they don't really care about it.

I changed my S9+ to S21 ultra 5G 512GB in end feb at launch, using for 3 months plus alr, very happy with it, fast processor, good battery life, great camera, abit heavy and bulky though.

Loved my S9+, would have continued using it if not for the screen issues, repaired once with used screen from Mister Mobile for $128 in jan but the problem came back, and since the S9+ was approaching 3 years, just change la, phone is still working well though, except for times when the screen can't work on and off, keeping it as spare.

Yeah. Haha but uncle me wants S-pen support.

Another reason I'm hesitant cos of in-screen fingerprint reader.

my fingers has dry skin, so sometimes even the capacitive fingerprint reader has problems for me.

I have dry skin too, i use the facial recognition function more as well as the good old passcode, sometimes still use finger print reader hahaha.

For S-pen, ya la no space to store it but i don't need it (it's an additional optioned must top up). Pity there's no sd card support, cos my S9+ had an SD card which I can't transfer over, went for 512GB as I foresee myself using this for at least 3 years, don't really like to change phones nowadays
