When you folks buy phones, do you consider their radiation level also?

I have a friend who is very sensitive to radiation.  Each time someone's phone is about to ring, he would say, "My head is  uncomfortable, someone's phone is about to ring!" 

True enough, 1 second later, the phone in the group rang.

As phones are getting smarter,  I find myself spending more time on phone than on computer.

Starting to feel pain especially at the ring finger.

Anyone here also having such symptoms?

There are terms such as "text claws" and "cell phone elbow".  Take care before it is too late.

Yes I choose the highest radiation one for my MIL.

Yes have to be careful of that

and also bending the head down is bad for the neck.

That's the bigger problem.

I look at Xiaomi and was attracted to the big screen, big battery (5000mAH) and low price, 2 models struck my interest, Note 9 Pro, Poco X3. Budget friendly for me and performance seems ok. I just don't want a "downgrade" phone, but neither must it cost a bomb.

Mid tier. I would consider
Pixel 4A, u get unlimited google photos storage. $499. The camera is pretty decent for this price range.

Lower need to look at chinese phones. I would consider xiaomi. Note 9 pro should be fine. my in laws use xiaomi. Think my FIL just got a new Note 9 something.
My wife is on a more flagship xiaomi.
My parents don't like. so using other phones.

What about 10.1 inch Fire?

Any experience?

Criteria - must be cheap and good.

My son using the samsung tab A 10.1inches for his robotics wedo program and school SLS lessons.

cost 300plus if I remember correctly.

My tab S2 of 6 years has become super laggy to a point I refuse to use it anymore.

No such things as cheap and good for android tablets. If u want anything below 200, I think it's probably not worth it. 

I've tried looking for some alternatives on different e commerce platforms when my friends helper wanted a tablet for her kids in PH. But my conclusion is they are severely fraught with compromises. 

Locally look for Samsung galaxy tab A as the lowest u can go. Alternatively, huawei media pad is the more common high 200-300+ option. 

Above this, Last year, I bought the s6 lite 64gb version from amazon for high 300+. The local 128gb version is about low 500. 

These are my recommendations. S pen support is important to me. 

Given the global tech product squeeze for productivity and online media consumption, prices won't come down and likely only to stay or go up. Which they already have.

It's not really that chip technology changed a lot over last few years. But android doesn't back optimise as much as iOS. So the operating system and processes inside itself are changing for the future. Its hard to program for the future and ensure good backward compatability. So with each os upgrade, the apps and system are moving further from the older OS version. 

iOS is guaranteed more or less to go back 5 generations. So if u want something that can age over the years relatively well, always apple products (provided u are buying the latest or near latest generation).

Thats one of the best reasons to pay that premium for apple products. 

I would say a reasonable use period is about 3-4 years. Though some manufacturers now guarantee updates for 2 years. But that mostly extend towards phones.

was looking at a 7 or 8 inch Amazon Fire tablet some time back.

Google Play is not pre-installed so have to either install ownself or authorise seller to open the box and install before shipping.

i gave samsung A10 to my toddler. he is addicted to youtube (for children).

i put it on a protector cover, but sometimes he throws it around, but it's still working.

Do note that SLS and koobits might not be compatible to tablet browser. You might want to test it out. Furthermore moe school are using windows pc to access to SLS, you kids might be confuse using tablet to access.

Alternately you can buy those cheap laptop from more reputable china brand.
