Starting a thread for Oppo mobile phone users to share : - purchase experience - user experience (hardware / software) - what exceeded expectations - what disappointed - general Oppo, Android and Color OS knowledge etc, etc ... To kick start, mine is the Reno3 which was purchased from Oppo Official Store on Shopee just before last year's 11.11 Preloaded with Android 10 and has since been upgraded to Android 11 and recently to Android 12. Believe I have used up the 2 Android updates typical for Reno series mobile phones. Was attracted by the quad cam set up, Amoled display, Dolby Atmos, 3.5mm jack, and even the front cam was 44mp (!) Have to live with the somewhat outdated teardrop notch though. Not into gaming so did not need a top end processor and mega battery. Have also set phone for +5GB RAM expansion. Am into photography so the quad cam set up was useful. However, auto pictures tend to be a bit on the "bright" side so I do manual tweak. For my usage pattern, full charge can last till the evening. Box came with a fast charger, cable, wired earphones, plastic back cover.

A mobile phone has been hurt as a result of this unfortunate accident between a van and a pedestrian along Sophia Road heading towards Wilkie Road on 11th of September. As we can see from this video posted onStomp and ROAD.sg, the driver of this Nissan van seemed to be distracted and was not paying attention to where he was heading, knocking a poor pedestrian hard from the back. Clearly, the van driver is at fault here... According to the police, the 40-year old pedestrian was conscious when conveyed to Raffles Hospital. Last night (1st May), I was turning out of Giant @ Tampines. Upon reaching Tampines Ave 10 towards TPE, I saw a TP bike whizzed pass me. Although I was on the phone, I was using my trusty bluetooth earpiece. The TP took a look at me and proceed on front. Then I saw the TP turning on his 'berry', stopping a Latio Sports. I think the driver wasn't so fortunate. He was also using his handphone but without an ear-piece. A gentle reminder to all. Talk all you want (M1's commercial) but please, use a ear-piece.

Anyone notice that Ah Beng Mobile Phone shops are sprouting every where. They sell the same 2nd hand mobile phone goods, then the Ah Beng owners sit at counter slapping flies or playing PSP. Not much business. How do they survive? I think the same question could be asked for all those shops with no business. How do they survive overheads?? Puzzling

I got this phone few weeks back. 64gb, gold color. no edge for me. too gimmicky. Have to say that this phone is really good. Touchwiz has been minimised (not completely) but good enough so that there's less lag. This camera is really good. And I'm comparing with my wife's Iphone 6. Same and maybe even better. And in auto mode, definitely better than the Z3 by a lot. Battery life is decent. No longer have removable battery/SD cards. And so I came across a friend's post on Facebook this morning about how he managed to retrieve his mum's mobile phone from someone who took it (whether she misplaced it or what is not the main point, the main point is that he managed to get it back from the person who took it and I'm sure not many of us are that lucky). I personally had my own mobile phone, a iPhone 3GS stolen from me at Parkway Parade many years back. I made a police report, had CCTV footage to back me up but nothing was done. And oh, it was a job done by two guys from China. Ok back to the main topic. I'm sharing it here for awareness as many of us know we can track our phone but have no idea what app to use or how to go about doing it and since he is unable to start a new thread as he hasn't clocked 25 posts, I'll do it for him. For the offence of handphone driving to stand, ALL the following 3 conditions must be fulfilled: (a) the vehicle is in motion; and (b) the driver is holding on to the handphone with one hand; and © the driver is communicating with any person with that handphone. [Para 2© includes making phone calls, paging for someone, receiving a call by pressing the keypad, and reading, writing or sending SMS.] The purpose of setting the three conditions is to ensure that drivers who have no intention to commit handphone driving will not be caught by ambiguous rules. For example, a driver who simply holds a mobile phone but is not using it to communicate while driving will not have committed an offence of handphone driving . However , if by doing so, the driver loses attention on the roads and fails to maintain proper control of his vehicle, he will still have committed an offence of driving without due care or reasonable consideration.
