Ok road tax no need pay but ERP may be needed to discourage them to cycle during peak period in CBD area.

Also should have registered plate so that if they violate traffic rule, drivers with car cam can baotoh them just like how they baotoh motorist lol

At least compulsory registration of all bicycles ( with identifiable registration plate on bike ) , plus insurance for those who want to ride on the road, and the cyclist must pass at least basic theory, and make it compulsory for them to carry a photo ID.

Technically, this is the correct way to cycle on the roads.

The more experienced cyclist will “shield” the less experienced one by positioning in the middle of left lane.

By right, it is safer for the cyclists to take one lane than for them to squeeze to yellow lines. But SG drivers do not recognise this correct way of cycling on the roads.

Lorry driver really should not have driven so close to overtake. Else just be patient lor.

"correct way" from whose point of view?

perhaps the less experienced cyclist is better off avoiding cycling on busy roads until he/she is zai enough to not require blocking of faster moving traffic.

*Sigh* I really cannot comprehend what is the debate all about...

To me, be it you are a cyclist, rider, driver, or even pedestrian, when you are on the road, you need to heighten situation awareness and give due consideration to other road users. Period.

Bragging about one right and trading your life for it is plain stupidity.

People say the lorry driver should have been more patient blah blah blah.

At the traffic lights if the cyclist went into single file the lorry would be far far

away and this would never have happened.

Eric the idiot purposely moved to the middle of the lane to block the lorry driver

and this is the whole problem.

If Eric the idiot moved to the left the lorry would be far away.

People maybe a cyclist and be bias but even they must admit that Eric the idiot

did all he could to block the lorry absolutely needlessly.

:D

And the fact he kenna side swiped it was just absolutely deserved

although even I think it was an accident and not planned.

Agree need to regulate them

Also during peak hour ban cyclist on bus lane, many times the bus slow down and cannot overtake the cyclist

Wasn't gonna post.

But can't help it.

Am I the only one on here who thinks the lorry driver did do it on purpose and he shouldn't have done it and should be prosecuted.

It's something we'd all like to do but we don't do it because it because it is illegal and life threatening.

In no way am I a fan of cyclists.

There I've said it.

Be gentle with me.

Can't rem if i posted this..

But if the cyclist was a motorcyclist instead, would the same incident occur? Would the lorry still be as impatient?

Then again, if the cam car could over take the cyclists, all the lorry had to do was wait for his chance to overtake..

it is not fair to generalise all drivers this way. But let me share my thoughts.

most drives do give way to and take care of cyclists but there is a small population of drivers will intentionally drive close to cyclists or honk at them.

Likewise, there are cyclist who ride recklessly, or intentionally block the fast moving traffic. so my 欠æé®çé¢ will be since cyclist being slower then car, why cant they just ride in single file? I can see that most drivers have no issue with cyclists on the road even if they ride slightly away from the curb and be mindful of the traffic, likewise the drivers would be mindful of them too. The problem is when there are cyclists like UKporean, then that is where drivers get frustrated.

Because in Europe Cyclists are entitled to a lane to themselves.

So Far anybody CSI this farker? Like where he work etc?

Don't be lazy

True, but how does the inexperienced road cyclist gain experience in urban cycling?

Mountain biking is different from road cycling.
