After being sacked by Man Utd, JM has been itching for another shot at coaching.

Joining Hotspurs as head coach will add some fun, excitement and unpredictibility in the EPL circus.

Frankly, JM has nothing to lose in accepting this job. It's £15m per year for 3.5 years oh dear - loads of money  $$$.

The question really is what KPIs are JM expected to deliver and if he fails how long will he last at Hotspurs. It's a hot hot hot seat for sure.

Whether it's a mistake or not is for Levy & his other owner/partner to decide.

JM's performance at Man Utd theatre of bad dreams might come back to haunt Tottenham again who knows.

I would think his KPI would be top 4 place n silverware if possible in the FA Cup. That would be considered a successful season. New recruits n getting rid of dead wood by the summer n getting closer to the top 2 n possible silverware in the Cups would be next season’s KPI, my 2 cents.....

from the statement release by JM talking about how good the current sq is and how good spurs youth academy is. i believe he and spurs agree there will not be any mega signing, he will need to work with the current team.

I’m really intrigued by what he says which is:

1) He has a new strategy n philosophy (he knows his methods are outdated compared to Klopp, Pep n even Poch).

2) He will promote youth which honestly his track record of doing this is not the best though he did introduce some youths at United, his last job.

3) Spurs squad is strong n adequate which means big signings not required. Again not what he normally practices.

So will he fulfil the above 3 points? Time will tell n we can get some indications as early as Saturday night.

Mauricio Pochettino favourite to become next Man Utd manager after Tottenham sacking

The bookies make Man Utd the most likely club in the odds charts when it comes to Pochettino’s next port of call at 11/4, ahead of manager-less Bayern Munich (3/1) and Real Madrid (7/2).

This just means that there are lots of punters convinced the Argentine will be heading to Old Trafford.

Ladbrokes latest betting — Mauricio Pochettino’s next club

Manchester United – 11/4

Bayern Munich – 3/1

Real Madrid – 7/2

PSG – 7/1

Arsenal – 10/1

AC Milan – 12/1

Juventus – 12/1

I think Barca also very interested. Poch is really hot property.

Aside he has £12m in compensation from Levy's sack. Not too bad!!

He will be laughing all the way to the bank with loads of $$$..... lol

Dun think the payout is lump sum . The quoted figure is if he Dun get another manager job for the remainder length of his present contract with spurs .

if he joins MU or another club say tml and with a salary higher than his present contract , spurs will not have to pay him anymore .

if the new salary is lower , then spurs will have to TOP up the balance for him until his previous contract expires

I also smile like that if salary more than twice tonight toto first prize.

EXPENSIVE

Tottenham paying Jose Mourinho double what Jurgen Klopp is on at Liverpool with £15million-a-year deal.

Spurs kenna carrot.

The more they pay Jose, the less they can spend on new players.

Give Jose more lah!

Between OGS and Pochettino who will be a better bet to bring Man Utd back to it's glory days from it's present gory days.

Rare chance to snap up this talented manager. Better grab before too late?

Tricky situation really....😆

A world of infinite possibility has suddenly opened up for Tottenham Hotspur Mauricio Pochettino. The former Spurs boss – and yes it does feel strange suddenly saying that – is unlikely to be kicking his heels for long. Bayern Munich currently have an interim manager in the shape of Hans-Dieter Flick, while Zinedine Zidane and Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s coats hang on a shoogly peg at Real Madrid and Manchester United respectively. Ears will be pricking up all over the shop. There’s also been talk of Arsenal and Barcelona, but, again respectively, come off it and come on.

Pochettino’s sacking is set to cost Spurs around £12.5million as he only signed a five-year deal with the club in May 2018, while ditching the backroom staff also comes at a considerable price.

According to the Independent, the total amount for dispensing with their entire coaching team could well cost Tottenham more than £20million.

That would exceed the £19.6million which Manchester United spent to sack Mourinho and his staff last December.

While Mourinho got a fat payout from that job, he’s in line to earn even more at Tottenham.

The Daily Mail report that Mourinho will be on a £15million-a-year contract at Spurs, which is twice the amount Pochettino earned.

It will make the 56-year-old the second-highest paid boss in world football, behind only Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola, who collects around £20m per year.

Mourinho’s salary is understood to be more than DOUBLE what Jurgen Klopp is paid at Liverpool.

Yes choosing between the 2 is a tough ask. Quality Mgrs like Poch don’t come available often but then again Ole is a United legend and has the backing of the fans so not easy to just remove him.

Tough decisions will hv to be made n it will be Woodward and the Board’s call just like it was Levy who made the decision to remove Poch n introduce JM. Their necks are on the chopping block!
