Serious question. So what happens if your electronic park brake fail?

If park on slope need to carry two big bricks in the car? [laugh]

It is serious & worrying indeed!

Looks like I have to keep at least 2 pcs of bricks in each of my cars as standby 😅

Isn't it automatic at your kinda category of cars? I thought it automatically engages when u stop the car for more than a few seconds.

Haha my cars are still manual brakes.

Some cars yes but some cars no . For example , those merc C class previously , still using foot brake , I dun think I ever use it . If it’s auto gear cars , I think P is good enough even if it’s parked on a up or down slope ..

Car with more gadgets will tend to have issues, try to stay away from such cars especially e-brake or e-start/stop, eventually malfunction will occurs . .  harness issues or whatever thy claim, even foot break can be a boring, at least i don't have a carry a brick or 2

Use the Gearbox to hold the Car in Slope will damage it....the part that ''lock'' the Car just a small piece of Metal engaged on a Gear...not strong.

Have had at least 30 cars in the last 20 years and never had a single issue with not using the parking brake at all .

Never had a car that encounter damages that requires any repairs or whatsoever ...

You changed Car in less than 1 Year,of course no problem to you, pity the next Owner, that bought your Cars.

They not parking on steep slope, they dont know can just put at P?

Or even put at D and off engine. den try push the car see if it rolls lor.

Put D ignition key cannot turn off unless it’s keyless entry .

keyless entry put to park without handbrake on can be done. Just that the risk of jamming the gearbox when you next try to move off is high. But it’s a temp solution till it’s sorted out I supposed.

This electronic parking brake brake has inherent issues in other makes too.

Nothing beats the conventional handbrake.
