if you have scuba diving friends

they have plenty of food grade silicon grease 😁

Don’t think it matters that much. Only a dab. Besides you also won’t know what grease they use when they first built the tap.

Recently 2 tiles in my toilet wash basin cabinet became loosened and has been worried that they might drop one of these days. So when I came across this spray can that can discharge bonding cement through a metallic needle, I quickly placed order and it was delivered the next day. Tried it out today and very happy with the result. Applied it also to a wooden rail that had become hollow on top of the cement structure that it was placed upon, and the wooden rail became bonded real secure to the structure within a few hours of drying time. Highly recommended.

Sharing my mistake here, though the rings were measuring with 19mm to 20mm diameters  when i replaced it with 20mm o rings, the turning of tap head felt a little too tight, i went to buy  two 16mm rings, fit them in with a little streching so that the rubber became thinner, the rotation of tap head became a lot better even without grease, and yet no leak.

This time round a different guy charge me $0.20 per piece , i paid happily though in principle i can argue that i paid $0.10 before,  but i better pay to keep this type of low cost product offering going.

so small tube sure clog up. So have to treat it as single use. 

those bigger tube i use those wire/bottle brushes and IPA to unclog fore it hardens

maybe 1st time also never put lube? 

but yes, use the smaller one and stretch. 

 

I bought a box of o rings from Taobao. about $4 for 60-70pcs of different sizes.

 

the grease is not only to make it smooth, but also to make sure it does not tear when inserted and last longer with the twisting.

if u argue for 10 cents vs 20 cents, have to see what kinda look that guy give u...  I'm sure he will also tell the story for the next few days...

Haha mai like that lah, i am a retired old man depending on LW vouchers to survive ah. 😅

I still didnt apply lub, i asked the shop guy for food grade grease, he pointed me to industrial grease. i know shopee and all have it but i will leave the 10 cents problem as it is for now.

And yes i was contemplating to buy in bulk also but i am quite sure the rest will turn into white elephant one day. Anyway next time i know who to approach when i need o ring

Buy bulk sure buy again when you need it, becos cannot find/remember where the things are!

when buying o-rings, ideally need to give this 3 dimensions

unless you know the specs, but a used/leaky o-ring usually flatten, impossible to measure, got to tikam a bit 😁

One of the dehumidifiers in my 300L digi cabi dry cabinet went bonkers. Called to check repair costs by(at least 140 to bring down to check or 900 plus for a new cabinet). 

Decided to order a new small version at 90 bucks (free shipping) from TB and salvaged the dehumidifier core and replaced temporarily. Opening is too big so used some aluminum tapes before using silicon to mount the dehumidifier. Screw holes also mismatch.

Gonna send the faulty one to China repair shop for cheap repair. 

These low tech dry cabinets are really over priced in Sg....

Anyone needing a 80L dry cabinet in a few months' time PM me. One almost brand new one available early next year! 😅

Searched 天涯海角。 Just couldn't find! Available ones are all too big for the small opening.

Anyway the whole cabinet is also marginally more expensive than the core.

actually my D600 DSLR and lenses just sitting inside the cabinet (I didnt switch on the dehumidifier for this year already).

Dunno what to do with them honestly, now that all photos are from handphone.
