Hey guys, a bit off topic - but thot I'd try ask here. Anyone using HP Printers at home or work. user need to die die register for the HP Instant Ink Subscription in order to start printing. Ok so I login to get the cheapest plan $3.50 Per Month and register the Printer : InkJet 8020e. Is there a way to stop the subscription and then still can continue to Print ?

Current set of cartridges are all Original HP Cartridges.

It's a scam to hook you up to subscriptions.

Unfortunately the best way is get rid of such machines.

Epson Eco Tank is the most economical, no simi subscription nonsense, no one colour running out but got to replace whole set. And if you use often, they last forever.

Ask Gemini.
It will give you exact solution.

Step 1: Buy ink cartridge for 8020 (non e)

Don't buy such printers unless you are happy to contribute to the company growth, year after year.

I have a brother b/w laserjet. I don't print much, only when needed.

The cartridge can last for years. It doesn't dry up like inkjet. Also can use compatible 3rd party ink. Companies like hp are constantly trying to milk more money out of consumers. They put in chips to discourage 3rd party replacement, and now the latest scam is subcription.

I think brother nowadays can recognise 3rd party laser toner catridges but they still work.

Every clinic in SG probably uses brother printers. I've really not seen one that doesn't use brother laser printer.

I bought a Epson dot-matix printer later because I wanted to print duplicate copy. You won't believe this low tech printer cost more than inkjet and laserjet. Simply because it is not "subsidized" by expenive print cartridge.

The print ribbon cost only about $18.

Our label printer at work always a source of problem with the ribbon. Sometimes have to take out and realign everything.

Usually if set to ribbon saving more, it will cut too short and cause jam inside in my experience. Just print everything one shot continuously before cutting.

understood more from my nurses, apparently it's seldom a problem with thermal ribbon/labels.

It's usually something wrong in the print queue data packets over wifi. Only printing 1 out of the queued labels. Sometimes requiring to reset the printer.
