depends if u can prove you use it for any other purpose than "self-defence".

just use pen; pen is enough 😎

How close do you need to get in order to strike him with a pen? 🥶

Do a wick pencil or those punch daggers/butter knife variation. Anything can be a self defence weapon....ask James, he can send his mil forward...

On a serious note, when I go overseas and need to walk pass those dark alleys, I equip myself with my nitecore flashlight, capable of blasting out 4400 lumens, yet compact enough to put in my pocket or slot into my waist pouch. Any hostile persons or even animals, blast it at them in their eyes using strobe mode, it would cause temporary blindness, giving you time to escape. This type of flashlight is perfectly legal and no issues bringing into aircraft.

I eat beef....in a religious place that does not entertain that dietary choice.

You know, zaobao, straits times...et cetera.

Let me tell you how "self-defence" in Sg works.

You, in a COE Toyota, take a steering lock and brandish it at a would-be attacker, you get 3 months' jail.

Someone else, in a brand new Bentley, takes out a 3 iron and brandishes at a would-be attacker, and everything goes away quietly.

That's "self-defence".

This is correct. A COE car certainly don't need to be protected by a steering lock as no one will steal the car. Clearly the owner intend to use the steering lock for 'other purpose' other than to secure the car.

The Bentley owner obviously plays golf at least 3 days every week and thus has a legitimate reason to have a set of golf clubs in his car(s). Therefore there is no intention to use the golf clubs as a weapon.

you can use the tool that is used to loosen your car tyre wheelnuts as weapon.

or long umbrella, learn from the HK protestors😁

or if you keep spare car parts in the boot, maybe can use it ,say exhaust muffler end can but that one damn hard to swing at people, or car brake discs, heavy to throw at them, or spare brake pads, all can use a weapon😆, exhaust mid pipe makes damn good weapon for keeping pple at distance from you ( this one cannot squeeze in boot though)

Look at the illustrations from Penal Code

“     (a)  Z ambushes A in a secluded area and attempts to kill A. A kills Z while fending off Z’s attack. A is guilty of no offence because, in the circumstances, A had no reasonable opportunity to have recourse to the protection of a public authority.

     (b)  Z ambushes A in a secluded area and attempts to kill A. A’s right of private defence arises because, at that point of time, A had no reasonable opportunity to have recourse to the protection of a public authority. In the midst of the struggle between Aand Z, a police patrol car arrives on the scene. A’s right of private defence ceases the moment A had reasonable opportunity to have recourse to the protection of the police.”

How does A going to prove to police that Z attempted to kill A?

In Singapore, there is only 2 strategy:
1. Run

2. Tio whack.
