PSP 全军覆没 again, go home koon. PAP might take back Sengkang GRC with the lowest margin, putting all 4 WP members back into parliament as NCMP. PSP still go home koon. I think the PAP sengkang team isn't a strong one and PAP doesn't stand a good chance to win it back. Perhaps it also understands that giving the voters a choice matters too and a monopoly isn't the way forward. Singaporeans want a diversity of ideas and the new 4G team should learn to embrace this if not it risks being an echo chamber. LW has said many times that he welcomes an opposition but not one that is geared towards its own agenda but one that does so make the nation better. We are all Singaporeans and in times of crisis, there is no opposition too, just Singaporeans. I also think having a WP sengkang team gives the pap an edge over punggol because voters there would feel that there is already an opposition voice in parliament so why is there an urgent need for more? The sengkang WP doesn't quite understand that the same message that helped WP win in sengkang may not apply to a different profile of voters. Voters in punggol are not the same as sengkang, minus the tikos that are virtually the same everywhere..😂 the lovely handshake one is one good example. There's no doubt that the WP does possess some good ideas and they're also serve as another point of view for the government in the midst of policy making.. that said, there will be some point the 'give you another voice' in parliament will soon become too cliche if the PAP does indeed change its ways and listen. Almost every opposition now is saying this about giving an extra voice. a new slate of candidates in pap may change the narrative of 'top down, I am always correct' style of management. As I've said, the WP is adapting to the needs of the electorate and has been called pap-lite. Pap may soon change its approach to be more wp-lite. That's how evolution works right? Btw, I've called out HS for using the script in his election speech and I've also noticed the pap sengkang team doing the same, which really pales in comparison to the WP team. They should buck up if they even want to have a chance. This may be a tiny detail but it speaks volumes. Can see from second half. That's weak.

Windwaver Turbocharged April 24, 2025 Share April 24, 2025 (edited) I asked AI As of June 2024, Singapore's total population stood at 6.04 million. This figure includes: Residents: 4.18 million Singapore Citizens: 3.64 million Permanent Residents (PRs): 544,900 Non-Residents: 1.86 million This group comprises foreign workers (across all pass types), dependants, and international students. Key Points: Singapore's total population increased by 2.0% from June 2023 to June 2024. The main driver of this increase was the growth in the non-resident population, which rose by 5.0%. This was largely due to an increase in Work Permit Holders, particularly in the Construction, Marine Shipyard, and Process (CMP) sectors, as companies worked to catch up on projects delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic, followed by Migrant Domestic Workers. The resident population also saw an increase of 0.7% for citizens and 1.2% for Permanent Residents during the same period. The annualised population growth rate over the last five years (2019-2024) was 1.1%, slightly higher than the 0.8% over the preceding five-year period (2014-2019). It's important to note that population figures can fluctuate, and the most up-to-date information is typically released by the Singapore government through the National Population and Talent Division (NPTD) and the Department of Statistics. Recent Figures and Updates: According to recent information, the number of registered electors for the upcoming general election is 2,758,095. This includes strengthening financial aid for lower-income families and expanding access to healthcare; encouraging urban farming and food sustainability; and programmes that promote digital and lifelong learning as well as intergenerational bonding. It also showcases ongoing and newly finished infrastructure improvement via an interactive map for each area in the GRC: Bedok, Changi Simei, Fengshan, Kampong Chai Chee, Chai Chee, Siglap and Joo Chiat. The website outlines eight pillars in the East Coast Plan for the next five years - to make East Coast a place to learn, care, eat, pray, conserve, play, shape the future, and a place for all.” I asked AI The term "Singapore East Coast plan" has gained prominence, particularly in the context of the upcoming General Election 2025. Here's a breakdown of what it refers to: The People's Action Party (PAP) East Coast Plan: A Vision for the Constituency: The PAP team contesting in the East Coast Group Representation Constituency (GRC) typically presents a specific plan or set of promises for the residents of that area during each general election. This is what is commonly referred to as the "East Coast Plan." "East Side, Best Side": For the upcoming GE2025, the PAP has launched a website with the tagline "East Side, Best Side" to detail their plans for the East Coast GRC. Key Pillars: The plan for the next five years (2025-2030) is organized around eight pillars: A Place To Learn Care Eat Pray Conserve Play Shape The Future A Place For All Focus on Lived Experiences: With core infrastructure largely in place, the refreshed plan emphasizes improving residents' daily lives and experiences within the constituency. This includes how residents interact with facilities and organize their family life. Examples of Initiatives: The plan includes initiatives and ongoing projects such as: Strengthening financial aid for lower-income families. Expanding access to healthcare. Encouraging urban farming and food sustainability. Promoting digital and lifelong learning. Fostering intergenerational bonding. Upgrading infrastructure like the Tanah Merah MRT station. Developing new Build-To-Order (BTO) projects in Simei. Revamping the Kampong Chai Chee Community Club into a community hub. Constructing SAFRA Bayshore. Creating new recreational spaces called "PlayHubs" connected by "PlayLinks." Expanding grocery discount programs for lower-income residents. Implementing sustainability initiatives like expanded green spaces and EV charging points. Evolution of the Plan: The "East Coast Plan" first gained significant attention during the 2020 General Election when then Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat, who anchored the PAP team in East Coast GRC, had a verbal stumble while introducing it. He has since embraced this moment. Land Reclamation and East Coast Park: It's important to note that the "East Coast Plan" related to elections is different from the significant land reclamation projects that have shaped the East Coast of Singapore over the decades. East Coast Reclamation Scheme: This major project, completed in the 1980s, reclaimed a vast amount of land along the southeastern coast, creating the land on which areas like Marine Parade and East Coast Park now stand. Long Island Project: Looking towards the future, Singapore has announced potential plans for a "Long Island" reclamation project off the East Coast. This ambitious project aims to provide coastal protection against rising sea levels, create a new freshwater reservoir, and offer space for new homes and amenities. Technical studies for this project are underway. East Coast Park: This popular 185-hectare park, built entirely on reclaimed land, offers a wide array of recreational activities and is a significant green space for Singaporeans. In summary, when people talk about the "Singapore East Coast plan" currently, it primarily refers to the People's Action Party's electoral strategy and promises for the East Coast Group Representation Constituency in the upcoming General Election on May 3, 2025. This is distinct from the historical and future land reclamation efforts in the same geographical area.

I look at their candidate like he's unknown and voters may go for safe bet, NCM, unpalatable as that seems. This area appears to have more well-to-do landed group so not surprised if they plump for the establishment. I haven't been following SDP exploit in bukit panjang. It will be a close fight and i predict the incumbent may still get a narrow win unless there is a change in the demographic of bukit panjang in favour of SDP. SDP best bet of winning was at the now-defunct Bukit batok smc, with Dr Chee making steady gains in the past few elections. To get a solid win in this smc, i was thinking PAP may have to recall back the more popular David Ong! But anyway, the more convenient path of eliminating this smc through boundary re-drawing was taken, seems like a cop-out to me. Why aren't they putting heavyweight minister there? Sure win mentality? Vote others to wake them up. ↡ Advertisement
