Why not so long as it can be properly regulated and there are alternative for consumers?  If G didn't privatize it, it won't branch out into e-commerce space and survive till now.

Anyway, Sing Post is more than the slow mail business.

Is there real alternative? If you send out standard mail the default is SingPost. This type of critical service (albeit somewhat less important now) needs to be protected as a public good.

Whatever other business they branch out to, they cannot forget their primary role.

Email is a lot cheaper. Anyway, even banks are slowly doing away with hard copy bank statements.

And courier if you need to send something urgent and bulky.

How hard is it to run the post office?

Every package has an address on it.

And if postman don't know where can just use googly maps.

It's not exactly rocket science.

And to test if postman just chuck at the void deck sent a parcel to your MIL place.

If put delivery failed no one home and MIL at home all day sack the useless JLB manager.

He changed the status.

Very difficult job meh?

Looking like a big screw up.

At such senior level,  SURELY wrt  compensations and reasons, they must have come to mutually agreeable terms of parting first before going public. 🤦‍♂️

Maybe that's why govt have "no blame culture"

Otherwise, end up all show hand, embarrassing liao.🙄

The 3 of them were terminated by the board, so don't think there was any amicable agreement for them to resign.  Moreover Singpost publicly announced their termination, so now the 3 of them need to fight back to defend their reputation.

The 3 managers that were fired for the fake updates were under Li Yu's unit, so I doubt Li Yu can escape responsibility.  The other 2 Vincents likely were not involved in the fake updates, but were likely misled by their subordinates during the audit into the issue.. so me think they have a stronger case to fight.

She tendered from ST 6 mos ago. Possibly ST instructed her, but another likelihood is that her new employer advised her to cut ties as board member and make it public to be transparent.

However PR being PR, the news headlines twist the story and people now suspect she is related to the saga instead.
