LamHoon33 1st Gear October 13, 2016 Share October 13, 2016 Placed booking (LX) on early July and got the car end Sept. Managed to get Vkool (it was J83 package) Found out car engine at time can be quite noisy (roaring), perhaps need to work on the accelerator like some bro mentioned earlier. Somehow I felt the pick up response is a little below my expectation NVH and bumpiness is still acceptable to me as my previous ride is a hatchback. I am getting about 14km/L for my FC. Guess I am heavy footer and I disable the start stop function. Overall, it met my expectation as a simple BnB car.... Cheers! Enjoy your HRV. The engine is noisy, the direct injection engine is more noisy than the common type. ↡ Advertisement

Raubern 6th Gear October 13, 2016 Share October 13, 2016 (edited) HRV is assembled in the following countries 1. El Salto, Mexico (200k/yr) 2. Sao Paulo, Brazil (120k/yr) 3. Buenos Aires, Argentina (30k/yr) 4. Ayutthaya, Thailand (150k/yr) 5. Jakarta, Indonesia (80k/yr) 6. Malacca, Malaysia (50k/yr) Vezel is manufactured in 1. Saitama Yorii, Japan (250k/yr) 2. Guangzhou, China (360k/yr) http://world.honda.com/group/manufacturing-facilities/#area5 Honda manufactured 52,215 vehicles in Japan in August 2016 and only 1,636 are officially exported to other countries in Asia in August. Maybe we take in a small amount out of 1,636. http://world.honda.com/news/2016/c160928eng.html Edited October 13, 2016 by Raubern

7hm Turbocharged October 13, 2016 Share October 13, 2016 (edited) It's interesting to know where else it's made but Kah told us it's Japanese in origin.. If it's really built in Mexico, shipped to Japan, then it is still, technically, coming from Japan. If that's really the case it might explain why the OMV of Kah's vehicles are astronomically high. The modestly equipped 1.5T Civic has OMV that is equal to a kitchen sink loaded continental. Edited October 13, 2016 by 7hm

That would be a real sleigh of hand.. I guess most Kah HRV buyers aren't particular, or they don't really read such news on MCF.. I would be rather cross actually. Will ask my friend to check if she has her VIN no yet..
SmurFF Neutral Newbie October 13, 2016 Share October 13, 2016 Speaking about peice of mind with AD...here is my story.. Sent in for 1k servicing last week. Upon collection found paint scratch on the edge of the body colored bumper close to rear right door. The scratch was in awkard location and both SA and SE are puzzled how it occured. I was quite sure the scratch was not there 2 days before as I hand washed the car. When I sent it for servicing, it was also not detected by SA during pre servicing inspection. But again, such incident is very hard to conclude and deduce... besides it is also impossible to detect all defect during pre servicing inspection. We didnt point finger at each other and my SE wanted to help me as the car was only 2 weeks old. He offer to get it fix for me at no cost. Today, I sent in my car and they replaced the panel for me within an hour... yes can sleep sound tonight....

LamHoon33 1st Gear October 14, 2016 Share October 14, 2016 HRV has a unique direct injection design ? It is a DOHC Direct injection engine which achieve leaner combustion for lower fuel consumption and produce lower emission. The previous batch of HRV used a SOHC Engine which is less lean and produce higher emission.
SmurFF Neutral Newbie October 14, 2016 Share October 14, 2016 Enjoy your HRV. The engine is noisy, the direct injection engine is more noisy than the common type. That is exactly what my SE told me when I feedback about the noise... I started to worry when I read from forum about the noise and bumpiness but so far I am OK with it.... IMHO, cant compare sedan ride with SUV/hatchback ride. If prefer quiet ride, sedan will be a safer bet I guess... AD service for you. Good on you bro. :) I am glad that KM make things right for me.... cant imagine if I need to fork out additional $ to get it fix..
SmurFF Neutral Newbie October 14, 2016 Share October 14, 2016 Take your time with mods bro.. add ons are simpler and less likely to affect warranties. Electric tailgate, more LED lights etc.. Go slow.. So there's a whole batch with Vin "X" ? it will be interesting if someone confronts them to check if it's true about the Mexican connection.. Ohh.. most likely not going to c'ng the car as I think all is good for me liao... if not this car will not be "value for money" as more money poured in to c'ng .. also it will not add value when you scrap or trade in. Some like to add chrome but I feel overkill liao but hor if like it then why not ? cheers!!

Stooky 6th Gear October 14, 2016 Share October 14, 2016 In Hong Kong, the Vezel is assembled in Japan but most parts are made in Mexico then shipped to Japan to be assembled. The key components such as the engine and transmission are still Japan made. Should be the same for Singapore

Singapore PI bought cars from Japan dealer.
