Sorry to hear your plight. I have never bought from a PI before, but if I really need to buy a car from a PI, I will go with the really big ones with a ton of reputation there. I belong to the group that still prefer dealing with an AD. Just to share my experience with Kah recently....I sold my used car outside myself before booking a car with guaranteed COE from Kah. Even though on paper it was written as 6 bid guaranteed COE, Kah did their best to push my car out within a month because they knew I was renting a car from them for a month. They got my car out just 1-2 days after I was due to return my rental car and they absorbed the additional rent for 2 days which I thought was a really nice gesture. I believe this is the kind of experience people go to an AD for and most importantly it is for a peace of mind.

Hi,

Have been a silent a silent reader all these while, decided to registered as a member just so i can post to warn fellow car buyers out there to be careful with their choice of PI.

Purchased Vezel from a PI at the end of Feb, since then has faced lots of issues, and till today still yet to received my car. Instead of purchasing at a lower price with a 6-bid non guaranteed COE, we opt to top-up $5k for a so-called 'guaranteed COE, without top-ups' to ensure we have a car before our car scrap in Mid-Apr.

Before we signed, we checked with the salesman regarding the OMV price (we wanted a 60% loan), and he guaranteed the car has a OMV lower than $20k. A few days after the initial deposit and signing of agreement, he called to said the OMV was in fact higher than $20k, several phone calls (& threatening) later, magically they managed to have one with a lower OMV. In between there were some issues with getting a loan.

Fast forward to last weekend, we were told the loan has finally been approved, and that they would be bidding for us in the 1st round of Apr COE bidding, and thereafter they would arrange for delivery of vehicle.

Who knows the ordeal never seem to end, called in this morning to check on the status again and was told they missed securing a COE for us by a TEN BUCKS! Again, they promised they would definitely get a COE in the next round.

Really disappointed by the ethics & 'stunts' displayed by the PI, we specially paid more for a guaranteed COE, yet by the time our car is due to scrap we still won't received it.

Just a personal experience to share, anyone has any advise on the next course of action we should take? Heard some dealers actually has open COE for events like these, may want to drop by the cardealer showroom this weekend to speak with them face-to-face and see if they such option to offer us.

Vezel KILLER !!!

frankfurt-c-hr-concept--toyota-1140_tcm-

When I resigned from my job, the last step of my clearance is to see HR. if you get what i meant, lol

Anyway, i've seen the online intro on this. No doubt it may look stylish & futuristic. But it's more like juke-killer rather than vezel-killer. the cabin space is definitely not so for ppl with kids.

And from the vezel owners here, i would say probably more than 65% are with kids, and quite a portion have owned previous rides such as airwave, civic, etc which generally have bigger space than vezel. Not many would want a smaller cabin than vezel.

Besides, Toyota has price this right, otherwise it will deter ppl from buying too.

also being an established AD, unwise to be calculative w u the rental period at the expense of branding / reputation.

What did the contract state? 1 bid guaranteed coe without top up? If its 1 bid, they did not adhere to it. If 6 bids, they can take their time and bid until end june. Did you read before signing? Careful with PI's

I heard from my colleague, that vezel is recalled.. and most Singapore vezels are affected,  anyone knows

http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/honda-recalls-160000-fit-vezel-vehicles-japan-38129898

Honda recalled 160,000 Fit subcompact and Vezel sport-utility vehicles in Japan Monday because of defective power steering and a part that controls the electric current in the vehicles. The recall does not affect any Honda models sold abroad.

There have been no injuries related to the problems. Six fires were reported related to the faulty part that controls electricity for capacitors, and two minor accidents were reported to the defect in the steering, according to Honda Motor Co.

The recalled vehicles were manufactured from August 2013 through February this year. The Fit were recalled for both problems, but the Vezel did not have the steering problem.

So Vezel affected, HRV not.

To Honda Japan, if you are a Singapore dealer and you approach them and ask for a Vezel, they will tell you that Vezel is only for their domestic market.

In Singapore, their export model is called the HR-V and sold by their authorised distributor "KAH Motors" in Singapore.

I'm certain that Honda Japan is aware that their domestic models like Vezel, Fit, Harrier, shuttle etc.. Are being bought locally and then exported out to other countries. There is nothing that Honda can do about that.

Direct exporting on their own and having a private middle man doing the export after purchasing locally in Japan are two very different processes.

Pretty sure that Kah would have feedback to Japan that Vezel is stealing the HR-V business here.

Gun metal painted trim around the car

Paddle shifters

17 inch rims

Heated mirrors and seats

Roof rails

Sport pedals

Do note that the new 2016 Vezel no longer has S model. It's now RS.

Harrier is from Toyota leh, not Honda.... [laugh]  [laugh]

Heated mirrors and seats kinda useless here...

This is two door or four? Looks like two to me...then a bit tough to compare A with A.

Does your PI deal with Used Cars? You might want to get them to T-LOAN a used car for your LOSS OF USE until you get the new car.

Thank you all for the sharing and advice.

Yes, just to answer some questions. Yes, it’s a 1-bid guaranteed COE without top-ups (though now that i’ve looked at the agreement, they have discreetly not written it down in black and white), as we had more or less narrowed it down between this PI and another PI which offered a 3-bid guaranteed COE without top-ups at a lower price. Even now when i look at the price offered by them at sgcarmart, they are still advertising at 1-bid guaranteed COE without top-ups as well. Can’t even check if they did bid now as it’s past 2days since the bidding exercise.

And yes, insurance are settled, and they’re arranging for installing of accessories.
Currently, all they can offer is to throw in some extra accessories (we opted for a more basic vehicle), and a spare vehicle to cover the period where we won’t have a car.
But i do have to responsibility as well, a part of it is our fault, our fault of not doing enough research on the background/reputation of the PI.

Lesson learnt, hope this will help with others. As for the PI, i would prefer to have a proper closure before I mention names.
