  1. CCTV video showing the incident: Watch at your own risk. https://www.facebook.com/nirvanastupa888/posts/1550973295051665 A masked gunman walked into a shopping mall in central Thailand and opened fire, killing three people including a two-year-old, robbed a gold shop then escaped, police said on Friday (Jan 10). Closed-circuit television footage from the Robinson mall in Lopburi province, about 145km north of Bangkok, shows the gunman walking to a counter at around 8pm on Thursday and shooting a seller and another victim before jumping on the counter and grabbing gold products. The regional police commander, Lieutenant General Ampol Buaruppon, told reporters the man came into the mall alone and opened fire at a security guard who he came across and then started a shooting spree that killed three people and wounded another four. "The robber was merciless. We are looking for him in every place. Please trust us, we will definitely get this man and bring him to justice," he said. The parents of the two-year-old who died in the shooting posted a message on their Facebook page, saying: "We love you very much. We are so sorry that we cannot protect you. Rest in peace our angel."

  5. Cordon >> ASIAONE / MOTORING / NEWS / STORY Thursday, Nov 03, 2011 AsiaOne Leave no speeding car unbooked If you want to speed, there is an unspoken rule of thumb: go as fast as the quickest car in front of you. The reason? Most photo radar systems can only track one violator at a time and as such, anecdotally, odds are that the radar will only pick up the violator in front of you. That will change if the latest radar sensor, Cordon, from Peak Gain Systems, a traffic enforcement solutions company, is brought into Singapore. Cordon's can simultaneously track the speed of vehicles in up to four lanes using a single sensor. According to Engadget, which first reported on this device, it can follow up to 32 vehicles. In the video below, vehicles that are tagged in red blocks are identified as way past the speed limit while those in yellow are within an acceptable range above the limit. Those in green are safe from tickets, according to an Engadget report. The Cordon system can create a pair of high-resolution images for each violation, ensuring that you won't get away. There will be a wide-angle image of multiple targets with the violator clearly identified and a close-up of each violator, with a clearly visible licence plate, the company's website says. The bad news doesn't end there for traffic offenders. The Cordon system can also automatically detect bus lane violations with 'advanced licence plate recognition system'. The speed sensor is small and light enough to be mounted at a height of five to eight metres on any fixed roadside object, making it inconspicuous. It can also immediately transmit captured data of traffic violations back to the office for processing. Integrated infra-red spotlights means the sensor can also work at night, when roads are emptier and speeding more likely. What do you think? Will this speedcam cut down on the number of speeding violations in Singapore? [email protected]

  12. Anybody knows whether Cisco traffic warden is armed with a digital camera or video camera with tripod set up to catch bus lane offenders? Today i kinda cut a bit of bus lane just after the bus turns out of the bus lane but then its close to the dotted line that allows drivers to stay on that lane for a left turn. Saw the white figure immediate after i went to the bus lane but he did not snap me...didn't even turn his back and look at my plate no. after i past him. So now im wondering whether that piece of on top of this stylo tripod is a video cam or a digital camera.
  13. From http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/sin.../373403/1/.html --- Singapore Armed Forces to introduce new combat uniform in 2009 By Lynda Hong, Channel NewsAsia | Posted: 03 September 2008 0238 hrs Photos 1 of 1 SAF new combat uniform SINGAPORE: Singapore's men in green will be seeing a new combat uniform from next year. Some 300,000 servicemen will eventually be wearing the new SAF combat uniform with high-tech pixelised patterns on it. The patterns replace the large green patches on the old outfit. The new material maintains the camouflage effect even when viewed through night vision devices. It is also designed to be used in war zones that extend beyond the jungle. Colonel Tan Chor Kiat, Chief of Staff, HQ 9 Division, Infantry, Singapore Armed Forces, said: "When you talk about urban terrain, you are really looking at a very unique characteristic where the opposing forces can co-exist within the same urban terrain in a very volatile system. "Consequently, the soldiers are going to get shot at a lot more often, and at a much shorter distance." According to the SAF, the new uniform increases detection time by 30 to 50 percent in the urban environment, making it harder for enemies to find their targets. It is also made from better quality fabric, which helps dissipate sweat and heat away from the body quicker, and comes with ergonomic features such as extra padding and pockets. It will be introduced to all servicemen over a three-year period starting from 2009. The first to receive the new uniforms will be recruits from the January Basic Military Training intake, as well as active personnel and NSmen in their sixth and seventh In-Camp Training years, while the rest will get theirs in 2010 and 2011. NSmen currently in their seventh to ninth years, however, will not receive the new uniform. SAF said this phased approach takes into consideration the wear and tear of servicemen's existing uniforms. - CNA/de --- Heng my unit completed 7th year liao. For me, I left one more before ROD! IMO, the uniform looks
