  1. Dear all, Recently I had poured an almost full cup of sugary drink into one of my leather chair. Because the leather was perforated and had mini holes, most of the drink went inside to the car seat foam under the leather. I cleaned what I could with the leather and went for some chemical cleaning. But how to treat the foam inside? What other methods are there besides steam cleaning? Thanks

  4. i quitted my previous company In july. In my last paycheque i have received,(not the one with pro-rated salary, its the previous month) my boss has failed to issue me with transport allowence of 500, stating poor work performance.(he owes sub-con money amounting to 60k and i get the blame for their attitude and not turning up for work) I am contemplating going to MOM or Small Claims Tribunal to claim for my transport allowence as i did use my truck for work purposes(send tools and materials to/from supplier etc.) Before i proceed, anyone knows whether MOM or SCT will entertain my claims? i also want to ask of you guy"s opinion before i decide to proceed or not. Thanks.

  6. If it doesn't rain, take out the wipers. Wipers contribute to a lot of wind drag. Make sure to keep in boot to put them back on when it rains. Make sure TP don't catch you w/o wipers. Radio entennae contribute to wind drag. If you can retract the entenna, please do. If yours is not retractable, remove the entenna and drive one day w/o it to see if you can still receive your favorite radio stations. If can, consider replacing it with a stub. If you are driving around in Singapore and since all those AAS rescue trucks can be called quickly, remove spare tire or keep a can of Fix-A-Flat in your boot. If you drive MPV and the 3rd row seats can be removed and most of the time they are not used, remove them and keep at home. If can engineer it, remove power steering from the car. Overpressuring tires. There is a science to it. No anyhow guess. Most agree that 4psi above what is required by your manual. So if yours say 30psi, you pump 34psi. Also make sure tires are the skinniest allowed by your manual. Consider fitting cruise control. It is cool. Go to Detailing folder and learn from Gen2 to polish until super shiny. Can reduce wind drag. If you got SUV, sell it.
  7. Got this from some website (forgot already). Experiment and post your findings here. Maybe Genie can start off? Ants--Follow ant trail. Discover spot where ants are coming into home. Dump ground cinnamon at spot where ants entering home. Ants HATE to get their feelers in cinnamon--they can't "breathe". Roaches--Buy roach motels. Spray back of shelves with essential oils of thymol or lavender or sprinkle with boric acid and black pepper. Spiders--Spiders eat other insects. If you must get rid of the spider in your home, have on-hand a bug catcher, sold in toy stores. It looks like plastic scissors with a cross-sectioned plastic globe on each tip. Or use the "Bug-Zapper", which suctions up the offensive insect without hurting it, then you can safely deposit it outside without getting too near it. If you have a spider problem outside of your home, especially if the problem involves black widows, take a long stick and destroy the web. A spider cannot live without food. No web, no food. Mosquitos--Slather on citronella, eucalyptus
  8. Hi, Just curious to find out from you guys. Have you wonder why the centre teaches parking using the black and white guide poles? I understand way back it was the trend but now it seem like it's not really the most effective methods? They should fix up some fake car bumpers or whatever to simulate actual scenarios as to simulate vertical or parallel parking in between other vehicles. I believe most of us that passed from the centres have to spent sometimes to orientate ourselves to park in car parks or parallel lots without the guide poles. Guess they do that to squeeze more money from the trainees as when we pass the test , the sales personnel will approach us with the freshie driver orientation course that teaches us parking without poles and driving up multi-storey carparks and the course cost another couples bucks to register. Shouldn't this be include in the lessons? BTW, anyone have any comments to share or any effective methods for parking without the aid of guide poles. Cheerios
  9. Heya.. As you all can tell clearly that Im a Dodo in this field. I was wondering, what should I do to "make" the fuel consumption better? Hopefully not tearing out the rear seats and ripping off the roof! Heard about the Apollo thingie... cheem... couldnt understand at all. Probably brothers out there can help. Maybe quote the price and where to get them (mods or methods) done too. Thanks in advance! oh.. I bought this front or back mounting baby/child seat for 9kg to 36kg for $129 at mothercare. Shiok! (another reason why I cant rip off the rear seats).
