  1. Hi hi, newbie here and sorry if this question of mine has been asked before. I have tried reading up one motoring and this forum but is unable to come up with a good solution/answer. I wish to use my wife's VRN (when she sells her car) on a used car which I intend to purchase under my name. What is the most cost effective way to go about it assuming both cars are/will be under finance? 1. Transfer her car to me before selling? That would lower the resale value, but that would mean I only pay $1300 in getting the VRN retained on my newly purchased used car and probably also the most straight forward method? 2. Wife pays $1300 to retain VRN, then transfer to me for using on my new used car and I pay another $1300. So total $2600? is this correct? 3. Any other ways? Thanks and advice is much appreciated 😃
  2. Scenario: My old car going to scrap. I am buying a 2nd hand car. I retain my old car number. I want to sell the 2nd hand car number Then I want to use back my retained number on the 2nd hand car. Can be done? If so, how to go about doing it? I know I can go to onemotoring to retain number. Just not sure about the selling part.

  5. juz pondering... when i bid a COE, i am entitled to own a car for next 10yrs right? den y cant i simply scrap away the current car and change a new ride while retaining the COE? let's say this scenario: One got a COE at $2 2yrs back. somewhere last yr got into major accident, but not BER thus insurance only pay for repairs not new car. but since then the car been giving a lot of prob so owner feel like changing car. but with the current crazy COE price, how to change car? but if he is able to scrap current car and buy another car under his COE, he is not contribute to any vehicle growth wat. den e new car ownership will base on the length of COE remaining instead of 10yrs so y cant LTA think of this? The abovementioned case is purely fabricated for illustration. Any coincidence is unintended so pls dun ask me for driver/car/accident details
  6. Hi guys My current contract is ending, and don't really intend to renew but wanted to keep the no. just in case for old contacts. Is it possible to port a no. from a postpaid plan to pre-paid service? Or any cheapest way?
  7. Let's say I am going for a shoot. After two to four days from the day they are being charged, how much of their original capacity will they retain? another way to ask, how long before the shoot can i charge my batts? i am using compact digicam for diving. it uses two AA batts. my batts are mostly sanyo 2700mah but got one pair GP2700 and two pairs "uniross" 2500. i usually use them in my nikon SB800 external flash. been a long time since i took my sony P73 underwater for a shoot. as most of you know, u can't change batts underwater my trip is this weekend, i charged some batts yesterday, and will charge the others today and tmr. but my concern is whether the batts i charged yesterday and will charge today will run out of juice by the dive trip.. don't feel like getting eneloop because their capacity is lower. and i can't "condition" them in time for the dive trip. also, can;'t charge everything on thurs and fri as they need about 4 hours to be charged. or can i just do a "top up" charge w/o discharging? another matter, if anyone got lobang for cheap and decent alkaline 'C' size batt i'd like to hear it too. need those for my dive torches. one torch eats 8 C size batts and i have two of those (one for wifey). actually we intend to kiamsiap and only switch on one torch, the other torch use as spare. we have another smaller dive torch liao but the beam is quite narrow
  8. Hi Guys, 1. I wonder whether Singaporean have the habit to retain their previous car plate number when changing car. 2. What are the pros and cons of retaining the previous car plate number? Please comment. Thank you. Regards,
  9. I've just found out that in order to retain your current license plate number, you got to fork out $1300 to do the transfer. This is where you transfer your existing plate number to a already registered vehicle. Whereas if you tranfer it to a new vehicle it's only $100. However, you have to come out with $1300 first and upon registration of your new vehicle then you'll get back $1200. Ok, my question here is. Where does this money go to? It seems like easy money for the government. Just by do some easy paper work and they make $1300 for nothing!
