The Escape Theme Park in Penang is going to have the world’s longest water slide. Measuring 1,140m long, the waterslide is already 80 per cent complete, and is expected to be ready by next month. The theme park’s chief executive officer Sim Choo Kheng, said: “It is expected to be the longest in the world, longer than the water slide in New Jersey, USA, which is 602m long. “It can go into the Guinness Book of Records. “It is a challenge to build due to topographical factors and lack of machinery. “It is expected to open to the public in early August after a security check is carried out,” he said, after a site visit with chairman of Penang Development, Heritage, Culture and Arts Committee chairman Yeoh Soon Hin on Sunday (June 23). Visitors will slide down from the hilltop and cross Jalan Teluk Bahang to the suspension bridge and end up at the water theme park. The hilltop is also the start of other rides such as luge (sleds down the hill), zip coasters and sliding tubes. The theme park already has a 300m long water slide that was launched last year. Mr Sim said a 400m long cable car ride with 30 seats would also be completed at the same time as the water slide. “The cable car connects between the foothills and the water slide. “It is unique as it goes through the jungle,” he added. The theme park is listed in the international holiday assessor site, TripAdvisor.

Certificate of Entitlement (COE) prices softened at the first tender of 2012 on Thursday, continuing a slide that started in November. COE prices for cars up to 1,600cc ended at $46,889, down from $50,001 two weeks ago. COE for cars above 1,600cc finished at $65,801, down from $70,003. Open category COE, which can be used to register any type of vehicle but ends up mainly for bigger cars, fell from $71,000 to $65,700. The rate for commercial vehicles dipped slightly from $39,589 to $38,699. Motorcycle premiums bucked the trend by rising from $1,481 to close at $1,682. Stock markets across Europe fell, wiping out some of the previous sessions gains, while Wall Street looked set to fall amid fears worse was still to come. U.S. crude fell nearly 2 percent, $1.69, to $87.52 a barrel by 1340 GMT, after hitting a low of $86.11 in the previous session amid a global stock market rout. London Brent crude fell $1.38 to $87.07 a barrel. Some analysts said funds and speculators have been exiting open positions in oil and other commodities to cover margin calls and finance losses in equity markets "I think a lot of people realise the underlying weakness of the economy is still unfolding... traders feel that there are lots more losses still waiting to be revealed," said Robert Nunan, manager at Mitsubishi Corp's risk management unit. Oil had plunged on Monday and Tuesday, as world stock markets posted their steepest losses since Sept. 11, 2001 amid widespread concerns that the impact from the U.S. credit and housing crisis could trigger a recession, curbing the steady rise in oil demand that has fuelled prices for five years. Analysts said commodity markets were still holding up relatively well as the underlying economic momentum, especially in Asia, was still supportive. "Oil's ability to go down another $10 to $15 from here really depends upon a deteriorating outlook for the economy. We are not going to go down $15 unless the economic outlook starts to look pretty bad," said Francisco Blanch, head of commodity research at Merrill Lynch. So you see... I got my car and the cleaner (Indian) at my place asks if I would like him to wash on a daily basis. I politely declined as I know sure kena those swirl marks one and I found out (last saturday) that my passenger door dented with abit of paint scraped off. I suspected its done by him and this was confirmed by my sources (they saw and filmed it down). So should I take action or should I let it slide? This guy is here on contract basis and is trying to make more $$$ so that he can return and set up his own business. Hardworking fella and all but to go to the extend of doing this after being rejected is just plain ridiculous. Curiously... I'm not very angry.

I tried searching the net but can't find any pics. Anyone has any pics on how the head unit looks like when the face is slide down? I assume this is possible since the website ways there is an auto-slide face? Appreciate any info. Thanks!
