  1. Please members, check your credit card(s) statement every month promptly. I received a credit card statement from UOB and was shocked that another credit card was issued to me last year of which I had not even seen it or the card being posted to me. I only had one UOB card of which is link to Metro where I always shop. The credit card numbers stated in the statement was not even my sub-card. The statement requires me to pay for an annual fee of $192.80c for a credit card which I had not seen it ... Called UOB to check on the status of that credit card on Tues @1145hrs and was told that a Customer Service Officer from the marketing department will contact me within 1/2 an hour with regards to my querries. Waited for 28hrs and nothing heard. Called yesterday at 1630hrs and another female officer answered my call. Asked her to explain how the credit card was issued to me when I had not signed any application form and who is holding to this credit card? She asked whether I received any calls with regards to any credit card and I informed that every month, received many calls from different banks with regards to credit cards and I always reject all calls. She informed that its was their marketing side who had issued the card. I asked her why was the card issued in the first place and even if it was through telephone, they always follow up with official form for customers to sign before any card is issued. I told her this should not be the way for marketing side to boost their sales. I even quoted to her that even now whilst I am talking to her, she asked me some personal questions to confirm I am the principal card owner and what had happen to that credit card which was issued as no one made any confirmation ? She didn't even know who is keeping that credit card. Lucky no sales transactions on that credit card but the big question is Where or Who is holding that credit card? She promised to cancel that card and ask me to ignore the payment for the annual fee. So members, beware especially those who pay by GIRO and failed to check your monthly statement. Once deducted, very troublesome and time consuming to cancel it. If this could be done at the marketing side, there are no assurance that the card would not been taken out for a shopping spee by someone and the poor principal owner had to pay if he does not check his credit card statement.
  2. heard only ar, don sue me. scenario : - I want to sell my house. i use an agent. the agent found me a potential buyer. but he don bring the buyer to me(yet). the agent call his colleague( lets call him Mr B) to approach "my" potential buyer and tell the buyer he got a suitable house n want to act as the buyer agent. so when the sales is concluded. my agent will get his com from me. Mr B will get his com from the buyer and share with my agent. Y do that? because nowadays agent can only collect com from 1 side... so by introducing an agent to the buyer, he get more $.... anyone met this type of agent before?

Recently I received few calls but looking for someone else, so I told them "Sorry, Wrong number", guess what, the person asked me:" Are you Mr XXX", I said NO, then he carried on to introduce his Prudential Insurance plan. I really hate those people who use this kind of stupid tactics. Anyone encountered same irritating agent before? If I am not wrong, we can lodge a complaint.
  5. Just beware, one might get indirectly asked to "bribe". I got stopped for "speeding" and the patrol officer asked "pay here or pay police station?". Naturally I chose police station. Thereafter, he told said he'll mail me the summon rather than giving me the one he has been writing.
  6. i was wondering, what is the actual cause of high FC? high RPM driving, or depends on the accelerator? if my RPM is at 2000, and i'm flooring the accelerator, will the FC be higher than when i step gently and the rpm is at 4000rpm? i notice i do not have to floor the accelerator to achieve high rpm.. even less than half the pressure can get the rpm to 4000rpm.. so which one uses more fuel? flooring at lower rpm or gently at high rpm? also, on the expressway, where speed is constant, should i remain at a certain pressure on the accelerator to keep a constant speed or should i step and let go many times?
  7. I'm sure everyone of us have come across one or another sometimes. I just kenna one salesman who like me to make a final decision in a few days ! I understand these people have monthly quotas to hit but buying a car is a big decision. One simply cannot make a hasty decision and regret it later. How do you guys deal with it ?
