About 30 students in an all-boys school were caught having upskirt photos and videos of six of their female teachers on their smartphones, this month. Their principal told The New Paper (TNP) on Friday (Oct 28) that the school administered public caning to seven students who had taken these images of their teachers. TNP was informed about the incident by a member of the public. We are not naming the school to protect the teachers involved. The school's principal said they first received information about the photos and videos on Oct 5. He said he launched an investigation that day to round up the culprits. Most of the 30 students were in Sec 2 and 3, and a handful in Sec 1. Said the principal: "It's not acceptable behaviour for young men. "As men, they are supposed to protect the ladies, not take advantage of them. To do something like this is so very wrong." News Report .A production engineer prowled Orchard Road and took "85 upskirt videos in one day" last September. 47-year-old Tham Nam Sang pled guilty to five charges while the remaining 80 will be taken into consideration while sentencing. The videos, all taken without the women's knowledge, were all recorded on 6 September 2008 in Ngee Ann City and other shopping malls in Singapore along Orchard Road. The culprit used two digital cameras to capture "upskirt" videos of women in skirts. The court understood that after having dinner in Orchard Road, Tham placed one camera in a paper bag and turned it on to record a video, with his lens facing upwards. He proceeded to walk behind his victims while holding the paper bag under their skirts. After that, he would use his second camera to take a pictures of the victims' faces to match the videos. He captured a total of 120 minutes of video clips. According to lawyer Jacob Lim, his client was suffering from major depressive disorder when he committed the offences. District Judge Soh Tze Bian has postponed the sentencing until April 28, and has called for a probation report. Tham faces a maximum penalty of one year in jail and a fine for each offence. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This one steady... So when the cabby placed it on the arm rest pointing at her legs, the 21-year-old undergraduate knew Albert Lim Meng Hie was up to no good. On Thursday, the former cabby, 54, pleaded guilty to insulting her modesty and that of two other women in April and June 2009 by filming their undergarments. He will be sentenced next Friday on Jan 14. Two more charges of filming two other victims will be taken into consideration by the judge when passing sentence. The court heard that the undergraduate did not confront Lim during the journey in his taxi on the morning of June 30, 2009. Instead, she secretly took pictures of the camera pen with her camera phone. She showed these to police officers who found the camera pen in Lim's apartment in a Pasir Ris condominium that very day. Five upskirt video clips were found stored on it by officers of the technology crime forensic branch of the Criminal Investigation Department. In Dec 2010, sales manager Soo Ee Hock, 35, became the first camera pen voyeur to be convicted. The former grassroots leader was sentenced to a total of nine months in jail on 12 counts of shooting upskirt videos. He is appealing against the jail term and is out on $20,000 bail.

An upskirt photo of a girl sleeping was uploaded by a Netizen and making rounds on online forums. The photo, published in Lianhe Wanbao shows a teenage girl sleeping on her side. Her skirt was lifted up, exposing her underwear. She also seemed to be wearing a school uniform comprising a white blouse and a green skirt. According to the Chinese evening daily, Lianhe Wanbao, the Netizen had claimed in his post that he snapped this picture of his girlfriend while she was alseep. The Netizen, who was unnamed, said that the couple had sex and his girlfriend then fell asleep on his bed. He then pried under her skirt and took the image without her knowing. The photo will also be used to threaten his girlfriend should she be unwilling to have sex with him in the future, Lianhe Wanbao reported the Netizen as saying. Some Netizens have also speculated as to which school does the girl in the picture belong to, with many saying that the colour of the uniform looks like that of Raffles Junior College (RJC). In a reply to Lianhe Wanbao, an RJC spokesperson said that it was difficult to confirm the identity of the schoolgirl or the educational institution she belongs to just by the colour of her uniform, and thus the school is unwilling to further comment on the matter. The Netizen's act is against the law, and he can be found guilty of up to three charges - for insulting the modesty of a woman, distributing of obscene images and threatening someone with harm. The first charge carries a penalty of a maximum jail term of one year, a fine or both. The second charge of creating or distribution of pornographic images can lead to a maximum two-year jail sentence, a fine of up to $40,000 or both. May 20, 2008 IT consultant gets probation for filming student's upskirt By Elena Chong, Courts Correspondent AN IT consultant was placed on 12 months' probation on Tuesday for using a mobile phone to take an upskirt picture of a 19-year-old polytechnic student two years ago. Ong Boon Leng, 35, who pleaded guilty last month, will have to do 60 hours of community service and continue with his psychiatric and psychological treatment. His wife signed a good behaviour bond for $5,000. The Community Court was told that the victim's 18-year-old friend saw Ong squatting behind the victim and behaving suspiciously at Kinokuniya bookstore at Orchard Road on April 27, 2006. After he had left, the friend informed the victim and both went to look for Ong. When the student asked to see his cellphone, Ong took to his heels but was detained with the help of a security officer. Community Court Judge James Leong told Ong he was very fortunate as the offence was very serious and would have carried a jail term. But in view of his medical condition - Ong has been suffering from social phobia since he was 15 - the judge granted him probation.
