  1. An ex-Grab driver is on trial for attempting to rape a drunk passenger. This incident occurred in the wee hours of May 19, 2018. Here is some background information on the accused, Tan (as pictured below). Photo by The Straits Times Tan was previously a sales manager for an airline. Since 2016, he has been driving with Grab on weekends. He is a married father of 3 kids. He intended to end his Grab shift by 3 am, as he had a parent-teacher conference for his child the following day. Tan could not drive into the condo upon reaching the location as there was no one at the security guard post. Instead of just dropping her at her location (just like any Grab drivers would), this "gentleman" decided to walk the victim to the condo's side gate. Tan then escorted her back to his car. This was where things took a turn. While in the back seat, Tan searched her bag for her mobile phone so that he could call someone. They ended up kissing, and according to him, the victim initiated it. Tan felt that she was no longer intoxicated at this point (HOW CONVENIENT). He claimed that the victim straddled him and started "grinding" him. He took it as an indication that the victim wanted to have consensual sex with him. Therefore, he tried having sex with her, but he could not perform. However, he claimed that the victim performed a sex act on him. Tan drove elsewhere to continue the act, but his escapade ended when he allegedly became "more aware of his surroundings" and told the victim to stop. Imagine this This fella was trying to have sex with a stranger in the back seat of his car. And moments later, his kid will be sitting in the exact position where the incident happened. If he were the "gentleman" that he suggests he was, none of these would have happened in the first place. What makes matters worse is that after he sent her home again, another Grab driver found her lying in the middle of the road. This suggests that Tan's "gentleman" gesture was merely a blatant excuse. Consequence If convicted of attempted rape or sexual assault by penetration, the offender could be jailed for up to 20 years, fined, or caned. If found guilty of outrage of modesty, the offender could be jailed for up to 2 years, fined, caned, or be given any combination of these punishments. --- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. Probably too embarrassing for him.
  4. http://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/officer-accused-of-molesting-woman-gave-different-account-of-what-happened-nea Officer accused of molesting woman gave different account of what happened: NEA SINGAPORE - A National Environment Agency (NEA) officer accused of hugging a woman from behind has given a different account of what happened, NEA said in a statement on Thursday (Jan 14). "The officer highlighted has given his account of what had happened, which is different from what was alleged, to the police," an NEA spokesman said. NEA said that they are aware of the case which happened at Suntec City Tower 2 on Jan 8. The enforcement officers had seen a woman smoking under the covered walkway near the staircase of Suntec City Tower 2, and asked for her particulars. "The incident occurred as our officers were requesting for her particulars in order to take enforcement action against her for smoking in a smoking prohibited place," NEA said. "Subsequently, the enforcement officers requested police assistance." The agency did not provide more details as the police are investigating the case. The 33-year-old woman, who has not been named, told Shin Min Daily News that an NEA enforcement officer hugged her from behind when he was trying to stop her from leaving. She told the Chinese daily that she lit up her cigarette as she was approaching a smoking area at Suntec City Tower 2 during her lunch break. She was then stopped by a man who said he was an NEA officer. "The man claimed that he is an NEA officer and asked me to show my identity card, but I did not bring it downstairs so I quickly stubbed out my cigarette and tried to leave," she told Shin Min. As she was heading back to her office, she said that she was stopped by a second man, who blocked her way. She told Shin Min that the man asked her for her identity card, but did not show his own identification. She ignored him, called her husband and continued to walk back to her office building. As she was using her staff pass to enter a gantry at the office building, she said she felt someone hug her from behind. When she managed to break free, she realised that it was the second man who had tried to stop her earlier. The man then grabbed her left arm, only letting go when she shouted: "What do you want? Why are you doing this?" She said that the officer had touched her chest and she felt humiliated. She then called the police, Shin Min reported. After the incident, she tried to board a taxi to leave the area but was stopped by the man, who opened the door and told the driver not to drive off. The woman then alighted. It is unclear what happened next. Later, the woman's husband arrived at the scene and they went to a police station to make a report. The police confirmed that a report was made and said that they are investigating. NEA said that their officers are trained to handle "challenging field situations", and the agency has "strict protocols" to guide them. "This includes engagement and disengagement of offenders, as well as handling of situations where offenders try to escape," NEA said. Offenders caught smoking in a prohibited area can be fined from $200 to $1,000, according to the agency's website.

(WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) - Daytona Beach police say a father beat up an 18-year-old man after he said he witnessed the teenager sexually abusing his son. According to a police report, Raymond Frolander is a family acquaintance who solicited the boy to engage in sexual activity at the boy's home around 1:30 a.m. on Friday. Authorities said the father walked in on the alleged abuse and then beat Frolander, leaving him bleeding and motionless on the floor. He then called 911 to report the incident. "I just walked in and found a grown man molesting my [name withheld], and I got him in a bloody puddle right now for you officer." The 35-year-old father said he had just left the house for a short while, and when he returned, he said he thought he heard something in the back bedroom. "I looked at Ray and said, 'What's going on?' He stood up, and his pants fell around his ankles," the father told the 911 dispatcher. "I knew what was going on, and I did what I had a right to do, except I didn't kill him." When officers arrived, they found Frolander unconscious on the floor. He was taken to Halifax Medical Center and later transported to the jail before appearing before a judge later in the day. According to the police report, the young victim disclosed there was a history of past sexual abuse involving the defendant, beginning when the victim was 8. Police said that during an interview, Frolander admitted he has had a sexual relationship with the victim over the past three years. "Here's a young man whose innocence was taken away from him," said Daytona Beach Police Chief Mike Chitwood. "Eight to 11-year-olds should be outside playing sports and video games, not cowering in fear. Chitwood said the father will not face any charges for the beating, because he was protecting his son as a crime was being committed. Frolander is charged with sexual battery on a child under 12 and has been denied bond by a Volusia County judge.
