  4. Title : Another SMRT train vandalised By : Date : 17 August 2011 2139 hrs (SST) URL : http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/sin...1147572/1/.html SINGAPORE: A northbound train was pulled out of service on Wednesday morning after a staff discovered graffiti on it. Initial investigation point to a breach in the fence at Bishan Depot, where the train was parked. The last time a similar incident took place was in May last year. A security lapse at SMRT's Changi Depot enabled two intruders to spray-paint graffiti on one of the trains. That incident raised questions about security at important facilities here. Commenting on the latest incident, the Land Transport Authority said it is disappointed that SMRT failed to prevent another security breach at its depot. The LTA said the recent review by the Public Transport Security Committee has instituted a whole range of stringent measures to strengthen security at all train depots which SMRT has accepted. It said it takes a very serious view of the matter and will not hesitate to take SMRT to task, if investigations show the company did not comply with the necessary security standards at its depots. Police said they are investigating. SMRT said it has performed a complete check on its entire fleet of trains, and has stepped up security and patrols at its premises. In a statement, the police said it will not tolerate such acts which blatantly disregard the law. Anyone convicted of vandalism could be jailed up to three years, or fined up to S$2,000 and given between three and eight strokes of the cane. The penalty for trespassing into a protected place is a jail term of up to two years, or a S$1,000 fine, or both. -CNA/wk http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/sin...1147572/1/.html
  5. Suay. Not sure kena by "freelance" buggers, because of personal feuds or targeted by Ah Longs because of neighbours' debts... Must have been really fruz to kena From ST Forum: http://www.straitstimes.com/STForum/Online...ory_691664.html Car repeatedly vandalised I LIVE in Holland Close and have been parking my car at the multi-storey carpark at Block 5A. This year alone, my car has been vandalised three times. I made a police report over the latest incident and was shocked to find out that there were numerous reports on other cars being scratched at this particular carpark. If there have been so many such incidents, why was no action taken by the relevant authorities? There are notices warning about the carpark being under surveillance, but there are no closed-circuit television cameras. I have monitored the carpark for days and also noticed no security patrols. Do we have to wait for more severe cases to occur before any action is taken? Most of the season parking ticket holders I spoke to are angry and frustrated about the vandalism problem. One solution would be for the town council to install surveillance cameras. If such cameras can be installed to prevent lift vandalism, why not for carparks? Khoo Ee Yong

On 30th Jan 2010, my car was again scratched with all four tires punctured. But this time, I caught him (Mr Chong Say Ting) on my car camera doing the act. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pN704en7xoY On 18th Feb 2010, my car was again scratched with all four tires punctured. It was Mr Chong Say Ting caught on my car camera doing the act again. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ROTuWLQ1DOI All three cases, police report was made.
