Using handphone while driving

Recommended Posts

You can use your phone even while driving, just need to mount it. Not recommend though.

Don't text when driving. Simple as that. Why? Really need a professor to explain?

See TP scare. Kana accident also scare. Killed someone or injured someone, guilt haunt you for life.

Seriously not worth that stupid text message.

http://www.ifaq.gov.sg/SPF/apps/fcd_faqmain.aspx?FAQ=32971

On 1 February 2015, the amendment to Section 65B of the Road Traffic Act (RTA) was implemented.

To ensure that only drivers who blatantly disregard the safety of other road users by using their MCD while driving, 3 clear conditions were stipulated. For the offence of using MCD while driving to stand, ALL the following 3 conditions must be fulfilled:

(a) the vehicle is in motion; and

(b) the driver is holding on to any MCD with one hand; and

© the driver using any function of the MCD

[© includes making phone calls, paging for someone, receiving a call by pressing the keypad, surfing the Internet, playing games, sending of SMS.]

Using a MCD while the vehicle is stationery is not an offence. However, it is not advisable to do so as the driver should remain attentive to his/her surroundings at all times

i used to have a bluetooth earpiece for answering calls while driving, but now lazy... just return the call after parking, or else put on speaker mode.

No need to answer calls while driving la, unless you are those people who have high volume of calls and every call worth a million dollar or affect life and death. If not can always call back after parking.

If attach phone to a mount, then can press ? Sure ah ?

So those Grab/Uber drivers, half way drive half way accept requests is acceptable.

But please be careful, and consider using a big 7-8" tablet for grab so easier to press, like those that Comfort provides.

Even if the phone is on the car mount, best is still don't use it especially you are driving at high speeds, e.g. 60km/h and above.

You may still not react in time.
