that fiercely loyal to hubby thingy is fast eroding. divorce no along carries that much of a social stigma here. welcome to development.

 

foreign brides from vn are likely to come from the countryside. those from the urban area are not likely to run after foreign men unless you can give them a life of luxury.(HDB flat no count), otherwise they rather marry someone who can relate to them. life is getting better for them here.

 

although the situation was a little different in the past. the commies are no longer as "oppressive", hence lesser want to escape.

 

but what are your chances when someone is only marrying you to get out of the poverty trap?

 

it probably means when she is financially able, you may be the first thing to be jettisoned. the gap may be easier to bridge with a m'sian girl.

You must give some consideration on the communication aspect and you must take into a/c cultural differences as well (what is acceptable practice in Vietnam may not be acceptable over here in SG).

 

Also like what Bro Guyver said, they may not be able to find a job easily over here unless she is well educated or has a good command of english so you got to find something that can occupy her time while you are busy with work. Presumably her family and friends are all back in Vietnam so she will definitely be damm bored if you make her stay at home all the time.

 

And if she is well educated, there are plenty of opportunites that are fast opening up in Vietnam so it is very unlikely she be looking for a foreigner unless she is truly in love with the person.

 

I got a friend that married a Viet bride and she speaks very little english because she is from the countryside. So what he does is he brings his wife along in his van during his delivery rounds so that at least she won't be so bored and he gets to keep an eye on her.

Generally they are agruementative, panic easily, like to cristise, compraint often and they offer solutions to problems rarely.

 

But i must say they are very good at routine scheduling jobs. Everyday do the same old thing day-in, day-out. That they are vey good at. But once something goes wrong or require some change of plans, they are lost. [:|][:|][:|]
