Mine after a few times...it's in the cold palace...they are good at cs, technical knowledge, clean with wide range...glasses wise...can find cheaperer and betterer...😂

My first progressive with them prior to this lasted coming to 3 years, still usable. Before that all my short sighted ones also with them. Hassle free for me since they are almost everywhere, at least the pricing are stated clearly and more transparent which I can choose within my budget. Their frames suite my style more.

it flew towards me!!!

that half a second seems like forever

I shot it again mid air, it changed course and fly away from me

then dropped to the floor and died

bro what brand your spray ah?😐... sound like chemical warfare leftover product.

i have NEVER managed to kill a cockroach mid flight this way. I swear sometimes they treat my spray as body lotion only... must follow up with newspaper or slipper😂

But smashing the cockroach is the fastest to kill it to avoid it flying towards you or flying around. 😂

When i see cockroach, i will smash at it to give it no chance to escape.

Smashing the cockroach with all the guts oozing out, the bacteria and all sort of germs with be splash and flying around too. Contamination area is large not a good idea for me.

I usually use hot water pour on it; hand catch it with plastic bag and spray with alcohol like @inlinesix probably a good idea.

I use this

the old formula is the best, one small squirt they belly up, second squirt on the belly they stop moving

I suspect baygon changed the formula a few times over the years, removing some toxic agents (possible carcinogenic)

the current one is only 25% as effective as the old formula

that is why that giant cockroach still can fly towards me after getting shot

shooting cockroach mid flight is possible when your body is in adrenaline rush

time will slow down, your body will react automatically in that split second

at the same time, that adrenaline rush also will hurt my eye and cause CSR

Baking soda water should also work, I read somewhere it will suffocate the cockroach and it is at least non toxic and easy to clean off.

Maybe standby a baking soda water.

I just had cataract eye surgery on my right eye at Admiralty Medical Centre (run by KTPH).

The experience during surgery was not so pleasant.

After surgery, I was given 2 types of eyedrops to use.

The world looks much whiter and brighter with the operated eye. I guess the old eye is due to aging.

Now recovering, a bit of dull ache on the eye when I put eyedrop, but generally so far I'm ok.

The eye drops, one should be antibiotics and the other one steroid eye drop.

Vision wise should be improve within the next 24 hours to 48 hours. Wear sunshade when venturing outdoor.

Is it necessary to apply the steriod?

Got to ask lala.

I reckon steriod eye drop expedite the healing process. Antibiotics help to prevent infection.

Come to eyes i "follow" doctor's instruction down to every single details. 😁

Don't play play with your own eyes..spend more than 5 figures and yet don't want to follow doctor instuction?  You are funny.

A few times private practice prescribed steriod for my eye infection or other types of discomfort...went to NEC for same conditions but they wont prescribe steriod citing not necessary...🤔

Not so sure of the details.

Infection should be very different from cataract surgery.

I reckon most surgery, if not all come with prescribed steroid for healing purpose.

The steroid is meant to reduce inflammation and speed up healing.

They say after cataract surgery your eyes and vision will be ~20 years younger.

@therock is the real eye lokun.

Most surgeries outside the eye, don't have routine use of steroids for wound healing.

But for the eye, I understand it's standard procedure.

from ChatGPT, since I dunno the reason why also.

Quote

Steroid eye drops are routinely used after cataract surgery because they help control the eye’s inflammatory response to surgery and prevent several important complications. Here’s a clear breakdown:

Why Steroid Eye Drops Are Used After Cataract Surgery

1. To reduce postoperative inflammation

Cataract surgery—though small-incision and quick—still disrupts eye tissues.
This triggers inflammation inside the eye (post-operative iritis).
Steroid drops (e.g., prednisolone acetate, difluprednate):

Suppress inflammatory cytokines

Stabilize the blood–aqueous barrier

Reduce pain, redness, and photophobia

Without anti-inflammatory treatment, inflammation can be prolonged or uncomfortable.

2. To prevent cystoid macular edema (CME)

CME is one of the most common causes of reduced vision after an otherwise successful cataract surgery.
Steroids help prevent fluid leakage in the retina by reducing inflammation.

Patients at higher risk include:

Diabetics

Uveitis patients

Epiretinal membrane

Complicated surgery

Steroids + NSAID drops further reduce this risk.

3. To reduce the risk of posterior synechiae & fibrin formation

Excess inflammation can cause the iris to stick to the lens implant or form fibrin membranes.
Steroids decrease this risk by calming the anterior segment inflammation.

4. To improve comfort and speed visual recovery

By controlling inflammation, steroids help:

Reduce foreign-body sensation

Speed clearance of corneal edema

Improve early visual acuity

5. Often combined with NSAID eye drops

Because NSAIDs target prostaglandins (a different inflammatory pathway), surgeons usually prescribe:

Steroid + NSAID combo post-op
These work synergistically to prevent CME and speed healing.

6. Typical regimen

Although regimens vary:

Prednisolone acetate 1% or difluprednate 0.05%

Tapered over 3–4 weeks

Sometimes longer in high-risk eyes (e.g., diabetics, uveitis)

Summary

Steroid eye drops after cataract surgery are used to:

✔ Reduce inflammation
✔ Prevent cystoid macular edema
✔ Prevent synechiae and fibrin
✔ Improve comfort
✔ Speed healing and stabilize vision
