This thing about the ears being self-cleaning is all rubbish . . . . my son and wife ever dig out by themselves big lumps of earwax.

I tried but cannot  [:|]

I remember many, many years, I dig out the biggest ear wax I ever seen, it was nasty.

Since then, my hearing has deteriorated until I fail ear exam.

Now I wear hearing aids, the company examine my ear and see it's clean. So aka "self-cleaning" but my hearing now is really bad, not bcuz of any wax issue.

Oh you are not aware? I mentioned somewhere earlier that I screwed up on the ear drop dosage.

I remember the counter staff at clinic told me a few drops every night before going to bed.

Doctor told me when I went to see him for the worsening pain in my ear . . got an earful from him [laugh]

Why is the earwax still so hard?!! He wasn't happy when he examined my clogged ear.

You are supposed to drip at least 5 drops 3 times a day!

So have to re-do the whole procedure again for another 5 days . . . . [smallcry]

Now I soak and marinate the earwax for 15 mins 3 times a day . . even in office!

Place my head flat on the desk and do nothing but wait with my phone timer on . . [grin]

Ahso. Okok me not aware. So its part 2 of the part 1 which u heard wrongly or do wrongly or drip wrongly.

ðglad you are now following doc's instructions very clearly. Here's wishing u total earcovery and not keep expired wax too long. But i caught the part where peace reigned whenever the nagging starts. Hehe

Take care and keep well. Have a great weekend and part 2 of part 1 should bring your ear back soon.

Cheers

Thanks bro! Much appreciated your concern.

Dang. Now I find dripping liquid into ear damn shiok!

Turbocharged

Maybe the technique you drip the oil inside your ear is wrong? And the oil just remains on the outside part of the ear, thats y ear wax still so hard? You must push the tip of the bottle a bit further in the ear, and drip one drop of oil inside the ear, then you need to press and squeeze the ear a while to allow the oil to penetrate into your ear, then repeat the process again.

If you ear pain is getting worst, think going to ENT can resolve your problem fast. They can remove your hard wax immediately de, no need to drip oil inside ear for so many days before ear syringing can be done.

I feel that pple should just go to the ENT specialist to clear their ear wax rather than going through the dripping of drops before syringing.

I have done both methods before and I will go for the ENT anytime.  Ear block or ear pain can be an excruciating experience; it affects quality of life, your work and the people around you. I find it more excruciating than toothache. I can withstand pain inside my mouth, but when one ear is blocked 24/7, the sound imbalance made it a torture.

ENT is expensive, but it gets the ear unblock in 10 minutes by using a machine to vacuum out the wax.  It is probably the most instant gratifying experience you can buy.

A lot of patients don't know how to administer  the ear drops properly. That is why some complain that ear drops (antbiotic/wax softeners) don't work. Key is to pump the tragus. What is that?!!!

See this well illustrated and explained video:

Soluwax.

You are right about the dripping technique, my wife dripped the solution but it did not go into the ear hole

My son drip and it hit the target . . . I stick the dripper into the earhole and squeeze . . .now I know how to do.

Very similar to how I clean my doggie's ears! Massage the cartilage after putting in the drops.
