szekt 2nd Gear September 19, 2018 Share September 19, 2018 I may have no skill to control the brakes. I always trigger the istop if I forget to deactivate it, especially when I stop to engage reverse gear for parking. Habit of pressing hard for complete stop to prevent damage during gear change. Thanks. I just trying to find some excuses to console myself that the pre-FL I got was the better deal. If the istop kicks in everytime you brake before engaging full reverse to park... seems quite xian... wonder is this just Mazda or the same for other Brand’s as well ↡ Advertisement
Astralee 2nd Gear September 19, 2018 Share September 19, 2018 Huh, I didn't say anything about braking slowly. Just echoing what astralee said about managing istop in a safe way is very possible. I think it's enough discussion on the istop now. Shall we move on. Talk about something else, the weather maybe. Yeah, let's move on, Let's talk abt the Desire package. Close to 2months since I collected the car, but haven receive card. Anyone face similar delays?

Anyone face similar delays? Why like that? My SE passed me the box on the day of collection with the membership card, $1k service vouchers and movie tickets inside. Only the Accor hotel membership took one month later to call me.
wilsonakoto 1st Gear September 19, 2018 Share September 19, 2018 Hi Wilson, Sure MAY but there is no such blanket void of warranty .. arguably void some electrical parts but doubt so. Such disable SS module are basically IC controlled module which replace manual pressing of disable SS but more importantly, send back signal to ecu that it is confirmed operation. SS itself damage engine mounts, battery and alternator that may not show up during limited 3 yrs warranty and to me, it is also worthwhile to avoid having to manually disable it every time. Nevertheless, guess ok for most owners to keep do so or simply remove such disable SS module when claiming warranty repair cos unlike ecu tuning, there is no way for Eurokar to tell that you had installed it before. I have done this for qashqai and mon turbo harrier for last 3 yrs. Last but not least, I will rather risk limited warranty void then to risk accident on such recommendation on braking slowing to prevent activating SS .. especially for other innocent drivers on the road behind those who do so ... lol !! Cheers. Richard PS: change rims MAY also void warranty on bearings cos different weight or offset i.e. load even if same weight Hi Richard,Thanks for your advise. Anyway, so far so good I managed to disable it when I start the car every time. Interior space smaller than my ex-Mazda 6. Just feel FC little bit high compared to other turbo type with similar HP. Parked at Carpark looks bigger than Mers C-class hahaha!

szekt 2nd Gear September 19, 2018 Share September 19, 2018 Hi Szekt, Stopstart for typical car will get activated based on key principle that if you do not need charging primarily from alternator to battery and battery being adequately charged to handle low power conditions, it will get activated to save fuel and carbon emission .... not about how you brake and no, it does not kick in every time you brake but there are fuzzy limits that only the respective car designers had decided and can vary a bit. For some car owners that likes their car cool and set to low temperature which forces the electronic to sense that they are in no position to activate Stopstart, it will not do so. You will also find that as the car battery ages i.e. not holding charge as well as brand new, frequency of Stopstart declines. Yes, it is a pain and destructive in our type of city driving in hot tropical weather, wears of engine mounts, starter, battery etc. and get stuffy when aircon compressor switches off with only fan blowing with longer term negative impact to the car performance ... hence I always look for disable module instead of manually disabling EACh time i get into the car and had installed in both non turbo harrier and nissan qashqai 1.2 for the last 2 and 3 years respectively. Cheers, Richard Hi Hobbes, Thanks for the info and guess some SEs are plain lazy and/or din bother. Will remind my SE to do so on the day of collection. Cheers, Richard Hi Richard, I suppose the “safest” way is to disable the istop manually each time if one does not feel it is too much of a hassle.... just like whenever I start my current car I have to press the touch screen to clear the message that wants me to acknowledge that operating my touch screen when driving is dangerous etc etc

Is it reasonable or too much? 1) Front Brake pad change + labour = $240 2) Rear brake pad + labour = $205 3) Supply and install valve cover gasket = $100 4) Supply and Install fan belt = $168 5) Front left drive shaft cover (inner & outer) = $200 Is the above reasonable? jiakliaobee 1st Gear September 19, 2018 Share September 19, 2018 Has anyone had any luck in replacing the entire oem headlamp module found on the standard trim with a oem headlamp module on the executive trim? The standard has orange halogen DRL together with LED headlight while executive is full LED angel eye style Is it a plug and play solution or are the wire jacks all different requiring extra wires or additional modifications?
Icedbs Turbocharged September 19, 2018 Share September 19, 2018 (edited) Nooo......too Expensive for the brakes. Thanks I thought so too. I used to service at AD only and I don't recall brake pads being so expensive. How come outside workshop more expensive Edited September 19, 2018 by Icedbs

Not sure about wiring but I don't think it will be cheap to begin with. U might be better off buying executive trim and get all the other features...Hi Hobbes/Jiakliaobee, Indeed ... moreover, it is not lta friendly and while non issue in 1st 3 yrs without inspection and little risk of failing inspection, it will be a major hassle to remove and reinstall. Not familiar yet with mazda 6 but cannot just easily swap (remove) the halogen bulbs with sgd100-150 led ones ? Think the "eagle eyes" are just plastic reflective tracks and not another typical aftermkt ring led filament right ?? Cheers. kykh Supercharged September 20, 2018 Share September 20, 2018 Saw a one-star review in Sgcarmart for Mazda 6, due to the poor service at TEK. Wonder who this is, if true, pls post footage of TEK mishandling your car during servicing, driving really fast, going over humps without slowing down etc I’m sure we all want to see it and will support you. TEK doesn’t deserve good publicity if they treat our cars like dirt during servicing Similar encounter was posted on Mazda Singapore's Facebook page, and even damages were found by the owner on his Mazda 6 after 10K servicing at TEK: ↡ Advertisement
