Agree, many 2.5L cars (natural aspirated) already have more than 200ps. Some 2.0L turbos from WRX or Evo already have more than 250ps.

Fortunately the torque at 420Nm is better than typical 2.0L turbo at around 350Nm. Engine should be similar to the one in the CX-9.

Listen to the explanation regarding the engine. The guy goes into quite a bit of detail.

Isn't 250 ps from a 2.5 L turbo a bit low? I thought most 2.0 L engines are already making power somewhere that figure? What's the torque figure like?

Max power is usually around 6000rpm.... these power figures are 99% irrelevant to normal user who revs at 1000-3000 rpm 99% of time.

More importantly is whether it enhances the driving experience... for example more effortless acceleration and overtaking. Turbo Lag... how the transmission behaves during the changing torque curve.

Agree, horsepower at sky high revs are irrelevant for daily drives... but the max torque must come at the low revs band... and must be as linear as possible... this would be why there are all low pressure turbos flying around... so we hope that this new Mazda engine would be good... but again Mazda's high compression engines might be highly polluting... lots of particulates...

if an engine is too fancy, chances are, it is not as reliable. want to save fuel and yet provide good power is rather ironic. in the end, you get short engine life or burn engine oil like VW engines.

Anybody using primacy 3 st?

Wanted to compare primacy with gr100.

Tyres are very difficult to compare with each other.....if you really want quiet, either you change to a Lexus ES250 or do sound proofing.

Is the 2018 Mazda 6 shown in your pics below the same as the one facelifted in February 2017, or it’s a facelift of the facelift?

Never did like the chrome at the M6 boot..Personally I feel the chrome looks worse in the 2018 M6 Boot.
