Ghostrider 3rd Gear July 4, 2012 Share July 4, 2012 Most will tell you, you are road hogger but as long you are in the speed limit, dont bother them. As usual, tailgater never know they tailgating ppl is rude and in dangerous way. I disagree with you. Yes you may be doing the max speed limit...but if there is a faster car behind you, give way. By hogging the fast lane, you are forcing others to overtake you from the left. It is inconsiderate act to road hog. You dun wanna go faster, keep to the left. You are not the traffic police, let them enforce the speed. ↡ Advertisement

Fooblack Supercharged July 4, 2012 Share July 4, 2012 this thread encapsulate the issue of our roads... "keep left unless overtaking" - it is plain english and one of the most fundamental rule in our basic theory of driving in SG. if not overtaking, pls keep left. why others can justify their existence on the overtaking lane by saying already on speed limit / speed camera ahead etc... i think they need to go back to driving schools.. Civic6228 6th Gear July 4, 2012 Share July 4, 2012 Why do people like to tailgate me when I am travelling at 90 km/ hr one lane one on an expressway when it is obvious that there is a speed camera in front? Another Road Hogger ......... these people would never admit that they are hogging but they will blame others for tailgating them ..... They forget the general rule ... keep left unless overtaking .... Even if there is a camera in front and the driver behind decide that he/she wants to be "filmed", let it be ..... he/she choose to speed and him/her bear the consequences. The right thing to do is to signal left and move to lane 2 when there is clearance.
Galantspeedz Turbocharged July 4, 2012 Share July 4, 2012 no tailgater also no hogger..lets say a driver who is a serial speedster keep going past speed limit..eventually everyone is a hogger to him..its a matter of perspective..and in life u cannot have it all..so learn to live with it no tailgater also can have road hogger.... GTR78 Neutral Newbie July 4, 2012 Share July 4, 2012 Hi Skyjet27 Yes you are right, it was an assumption I made based on my speedometer reading (I have a second digital speedometer mounted on my car) and the rate he was pulling away from me Yes, I could be wrong about his actual speed, but there was the unmistakeable flash of the speed cam as he drove past. I am driving a Singapore registered car. Cheers brudder 120 sure will trigger lor exceed 30 lei but i jus like to kmow u not driving j plate car rite how u know its at 110-120? u assume??? Iisterry 3rd Gear July 4, 2012 Share July 4, 2012 Why do people remember to adhere to speed limit on lane 1 of expressway regardless of speed camera's presence and forget the rule of "Keep left unless Overtaking"? +1! I think they have this ostrich mentality, that people will not recognize them since they are hiding in a tin can. I don't seem to see people intentionally doing this while walking. If someone is jogging/running behind them or walking at a faster pace, people will generally give way despite already at "walking speed". Anonymity brings out the worse in people. Maxus-MIFA9 Supersonic July 4, 2012 Share July 4, 2012 you mean the pictures aee taken from the satellite Hur .......... I mean the GPS installed inside the vehicle which also show the road map lar..... Look carefully, you can see the speed you are travelling in the GPS (unless yours cheapo type which GPS does not indicate the speed). There are a different of 5 ~ 7 km/h with the car speedometer. The faster you go, the wider the range.
Bigbadguy 1st Gear July 4, 2012 Share July 4, 2012 (edited) I can keep 2 sec rule away from the hogger car, but the hogger is still a hogger and the car behind with 2 sec rule will not be consider a tailgater, and if behind car dont move up to show the hogger they are hogging, how the Fxxx the hogger knows they are hogging? Horn them? High beam them? So keep left unless overtaking, What so hard to do it? duh, esp if there is a long stretch of road ahead with no car, Do give lame excuse of speed limit, Why don't hogger just take a look at the 2nd lane to see if the road is clear or not. Also tailgater does not mean he has the right to drive on lane 1, after overtaking, it best to go back to lane 2. This way everyone can share a great experience on the road. StefanK Supercharged July 4, 2012 Share July 4, 2012 You may have unknowingly made a too conservative slow-down before the camera until the car behind catch up with you. +1 for this. Maybe TS was keeping 90km/h too early so the cars behind inevitably would catch up and become a tailgater. The whole road does not contain your car and the person behind you or in front of you only. When slowing down to keep pace, one also have to make sure it is done safely so that the cars behind would not need to zam brake should a true tailgater exist. Most of the time, I would travel at 100km/h on lane 1 while overtaking and when nearing speedcam, i do not step brake to slow down, instead about estimate 10 - 20m before the speed cam I will gradually release my accelerator so that speed drops by 1 or 2km/h and when I pass, I do not need to zua yiu to maintain traffic flow on that lane. ↡ Advertisement
