I found this MINI 0806 car camera camcorder at $86.99, did anyone used it? https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=2967145&st=920

I'm using the mini.

It's nice but screen is perhaps too small.

I need to unplug it to bring it closer to use the menu, which sometimes I forgot what is what.

A couple of times, I had to reformat the TFcard, as it complains about and shut down.

After formatting it will be ok.

Video is good.

Otherwise, not much issue.

Turbocharged

Finally managed to post my review on SGCM of OPTIAN. Was initially skeptical of it when I got it in the car deal as never heard of the brand.

Apparently I had too many words. [hur]

http://www.sgcarmart.com/products/product_reviews.php?ID=10531

But I'm actually quite satisfied with it! :a-good:

edit: forgot to mention the mic is okay as well. Wish SGCM would let people edit reviews.

Which brand/model is currently the hot seller, looking for one .

Can I ask those who are using thinkware / iroad / Blackvue car camera , does it capture night scene well? Assuming old HDB open car park which are quite dim , can the camera capture the opposite car plate?

Thinking of getting the Lukas 9750 but there are not much review .

I heard of Lukas when I was researching several months ago, they aren't very well known in SG (most people are using Blackvue here it seems), but the few reviews I read say that although Lukas cams have some usability issues, their video quality is generally very high.

Neutral Newbie

Have been using Safevue F178 for the past 2 weeks.
So far so good. The "branded" dashcams do come with good features, but I believe the price are ridiculously.

I list down some of the advantage and disadvantage for Safevue :
+ $66 only!
+ Decent video quality day and night
+ Fisheye lens offer paranomic 170 degrees angle!
+ Safevue is running on 5V, and I can just use any powerbank usb slot
+ 20000mAh powerbank cost $30+, and can record 1.5 days of video footage!
– Every 2 days, I need to swap the powerbank (this option is better than a flat battery, due to other brands' parking mode)
– Safevue F178's motion-sensor is useless, thus I let my camera record 7×24. So far no over-heat issues.
+ If unit spoil, I will just grab another unit. For the price of an “atas” Blackvue DR650, I can grab 9 SafeVue F178!

More details on my blog.

What is the specs to look for if I want dash cam that can capture road sign or car plate number of car that zoom passed me clearly? My current car cam take clear video only in day time and when vehicle in stationary (day and night)... but when the car zoom passed me, can't even see the number plate at all and even street signboard also not clear.... suppose to be full HD ....

Yup, budget cams are good enuf... if you are recording overnight in car park, use the powerbank, so that you can still start your car in the morning... but the 20000 mAh battery takes a loooonnggg time to recharge..haha.....

actually there is also another way to see live view of the car surroundings at any time you like... beats having to run down to the car park everytime your car alarm sounds.. [bounce2]

Been using this for a couple of weeks. The recordings looked decent enough for both day and night

But still can't see moving car plate and sign board clearly esp at night :(

is this due to recording at 30fps, camera record at this rate can't see properly on moving car especially at higher speed. You can achieve
