Now a person inside a shop kana kutok aka cheated, what can a CCTV do ???? If really that shop that bad, the SL Management just suspend that shop for 6 months from doing business lar and during this six month, monthly continue to collect rental from the shop owner. See if the owner of the shop want to cheat or not... Six month suspension is much greater than the amount cheat... Unlike the new malls which the developer or building management owns the whole building, Sim Lim Square shops are strata titled; the owners actually own their individual shops. The management has no rights to banned them from opening by law and that makes this the most difficult thing to deal with. What the management did now is to advise the shop owners to add in the clause when renting out to others stating that if found to do sales in an inappropriate manner, the owners can terminate the contract and asked for compensation. But it is purely on the owner to decide whether they want to include this clause as the management cannot do anything about it rather than trying to shame the shops. But, knowing these errant owners, they will probably "by-pass" the scope of the CCTV... Go inside the shop... and then block the entire views and then force the poor chaps to buy ! Anyway, SLS reputation has been downwards since... tourists will probably buy from somewhere else... Just a matter of time when SLS shut down.... Sometimes things are just so clear cut that is morally wrong but there is no law breaking due to perhaps these people found the loophole and go scot-free. They get bolder and bolder. MAny people report to police no use as police officer will say, I am sorry I can't do much on their side. And then It go on and on until these joker think they are above law. And sometimes these loophole can last for many years and complaint many years also no use as there will always have excuse given. The funny thing is after social media and all exposed jover act, authorities then start to act, the case also another joker, can't do much due to they no power on their side. To change law, sometimes it can take more then 6 months, don't know why need drag so long when things are obvious. And Well, because of these inefficiencies, that is why we still have those joker around who think they are above law coz they found the loophole that will not get them in trouble. Funny isn't right?
