I was a huge fan of the ultimate warrior when i was young. I recalled he used to wear a band around his biceps, and my brother and I would mimic him sometimes and wear a band around our arms at home too!

Not exactly a huge wrestling fan, but used to watch when younger (peer pressure etc). Sad to see so many of these familiar names pass on.

I was a huge fan of the ultimate warrior when i was young. I recalled he used to wear a band around his biceps, and my brother and I would mimic him sometimes and wear a band around our arms at home too!

 

If you didn't tie raffia string around your biceps and run around like a lunatic as a kid, you didn't really have a childhood.

 

Also don't forget grabbing at railings and trying shake them to do the "Warrior Power-up".

The death of the Ultimate Warrior earlier this week was just the latest grim reminder that professional wrestlers continue to drop dead from something other than old age at an alarming rate.

The pinnacle of the Warrior's career was WrestleMania VI on April 1, 1990, at SkyDome in Toronto. Warrior defeated Hulk Hogan in the main event to win the championship.

Shockingly, Warrior is the 12th wrestler who competed at WrestleMania VI in 1990 to have died - one-third of the card's participants. The oldest was just 63.

Reasons for wrestlers dying early - gruelling travel schedules, painkiller abuse, steroid use - have been well-documented.

The passing of the Warrior at age 54 from what is suspected to be a heart attack just days after his induction to WWE's Hall of Fame only underscores the issue.

And the scary list of deceased stars of WrestleMania VI brings the issue into stark relief again:

1. Randy Savage: Savage was 58 when he died of a heart attack in 2011. At WrestleMania VI, Savage and Sensational Sherri Martel lost a mixed tag-team match to Dusty Rhodes and Sapphire.

2. Andre The Giant: Andre was 46 when he died of heart failure in 1993. At WrestleMania VI, Andre and Haku lost the WWE tag-team championship to Ax and Smash of Demolition.

3. Rick Rude: 'Ravishing Rick' was 40 when he died of heart failure related to an overdose in 1999. At WrestleMania VI, Rude defeated Jimmy Snuka.

4. Curt Hennig: Known as Mr. Perfect, Hennig was 44 when he died from "acute cocaine intoxication" in 2003. At WrestleMania VI, Hennig lost to Brutus Beefcake.

5. John Tenta: Known as Earthquake, Tenta was 42 when he died in 2006 from bladder cancer that spread to his lungs. At WrestleMania VI, he defeated Hercules.

6. Raymond Fernandez: Known as Hercules, Fernandez was 47 when he died in 2004 from heart disease. At WrestleMania VI, he lost to Earthquake.

7. Allen Coage: Known as Bad News Brown, Coage, an Olympic bronze medalist in judo, was 63 when he died in 2007 of a heart attack. At WrestleMania VI, he had a double countout in his match against Roddy Piper.

8. Sherri Martel: "Sensational Sherri" was 49 when she died of an overdose in 2007. At WrestleMania VI, she and Randy Savage lost a mixed tag-team match to Dusty Rhodes and Sapphire.

9. Dino Bravo: Bravo was 44 when he was gunned down in 1993, a murder that some believe was linked his alleged involvement in a cigarette smuggling ring. At WrestleMania VI, he lost to Hacksaw Jim Duggan.

10. Ray Traylor: Known as Big Boss Man, Traylor was 41 when he died of a heart attack in 2004. At WrestleMania VI, he defeated Akeem.

And if what that man did in his life makes the blood pulse through the body of others and makes them believe deeper in something that's larger than life, then his essence, his spirit, will be immortalized by the storytellers - by the loyalty, by the memory of those who honor him, and make the running the man did live forever."

ya lor. haiz. die for entertainment is damm ridiculous. and i read that their pay etc pretty low too... so most of the wrestlers all die in relative proverty except the more famous ones.

The Ultimate Warrior died from a massive heart attack ... this according to the medical examiner who conducted the autopsy, TMZ has learned.

Officials tell TMZ ... the official cause of death for Warrior -- real name James Hellwig -- was determined to be "Atherosclerotic/Arteriosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease" ... aka heart disease.

Officials classified Warrior's death as "natural" -- meaning neither drugs nor alcohol were directly involved.

As we previously reported, Warrior clutched his chest outside of an Arizona hotel on April 8 while walking with his wife. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but never regained consciousness.

Warrior was 54 years old.

Wrestlers are dropping dead at a relatively young age. So many of them left this world.

 

 

It is a world of fantasy, only ' entertaining ' and wonder how it can sustain wrestling fans over, most risk broken bones, rib and leg over flying over trapeze , stunt and cut-throat display which in our body cannot take such cordinated performance.

 

Yes, Ultimate warrior was one of my fan, he kept running to the stage, gave high five and grabbing the stage rope heavily and scream to his delight, his painted faces was iconic. I dun now how to describe his insanity

I recalled watching a clip where former wrestler Jack The Snake Robert was asking for public donation to treat his illness. It is sad to see someone who was once so famous to be in that state.
