If its not serious just fix it up. When times are good, most of the big dealers dont even need to look at condition of car, just mileage and car plate they quote already.

You are right. They just asked my milleage and year of registration to confirm the trade in value.

If no major damage to the chassis than repair and trade in. Mind you dealer too take in accident vehicle and repair till swee swee(body). Quote accident free car in their advert.

If during trade in the dealer did not even view your car then just tell them already like that during the trade in.

 

If simple repair the profit from the trade in should be enough to carry the cost.

Seriously, if I am you, I won't bother to inform them. U think they will tell next potential buyer that the car has accident history? Come on, they are dealers.

Just fix it & trade in. They'll not bother. Unless u thinking of trading in the damaged car? I'm sure the trade in value is base on a undamaged car, dings & scratches excluded.

Just don't tell them. That is the reason why they always don't tell potential buyers that the car has been in an accident. Normal to behave just like them.

The way I see it: they squeeze you harder if you tell them and they will tell potential buyers that the car is accident free

Tell them it's accident free only used to fetch kids from school and to buy groceries. If it's just the door, no way they can find out unless they disassemble it. Dealer want fark you, you tell him fly kite and that he wasted your time.

So you were not lying, and quite frankly they are more keen to trade in the paper value to make the sale.
