Wishcumstrue 6th Gear December 30, 2015 Share December 30, 2015 Suppose to be some high level committee and board of governer got together to decide on the name from over 200 choices. Reaaly head in the clouds, ivory tower thinking. That's nothing compared to the millions spent in selecting new names for our beloved Singapore Zoo or now-demolished "Budget Terminal" at Changi a/p.. The same metality is applied when comes to paying our ministers... At this rate, Singapore can return from 1st World to the 4th in a generation. Sosaria Twincharged December 30, 2015 Share December 30, 2015 shouldnt use greek name should use Malay better macam Rasa Sayang JC or Mari Kita JC haha Mari Kita for JC girls, more like it Not cannot appeal - rather, the appeal is doomed to fail if you don't meet the cutoff which I think is quite fair. CMI means CMI. I think it's fair also, so that those unpopular schools that students always appeal to get out of, can have a chance to retain enough better students to raise the school's performance in future. Otherwise, those unpopular schools will always remain stuck in the basement and never have a fighting chance to improve. Teachers can only do so much, also need better-potential students. Wishcumstrue 6th Gear December 30, 2015 Share December 30, 2015 Even a ST columnist cannot tahan and posted his view today... Eunoia JC? Please rethink the name - Ignatius Low http://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/education/eunoia-jc-please-rethink-the-name How on earth did we get here? Since when do Singaporeans dig deep into Grecian dictionaries to name anything? It is one thing to want the kids to aspire to "learning with grace" or whatever, but how does the name connect in any way to Singapore, let alone the histories of these three great schools?Someone needs to stage an intervention - and quickly - before this school and the rest of the education system become the laughing stock of the nation and beyond.
