Qns regarding tyres

i am going to change the tyres soon. since i've a pair of new bridgestones ep200, its reco to stick w the same right?

so now, on your front driven axle u have one used tyre and one bald tyre?

apart from the uneven grip levels, the different rolling circumferences will also play havoc with the front differential.

the uneven grip (between left n right) will be especially evident when driving on wet roads, and good luck if u go over a puddle with the bald tyre.

pls change asap

1. New tyres always at the back

2. Tyres on same axle always same kind, ie. front both same kind, rear both same kind

Golden rules on tyres:

1. Check and maintain air pressure every 15 days

2. Rotate wheels every 10k to have even wear and tear.

If Front wheel drive, FL to RL, FR to RR, RL to FR and RR to FL.

All wheel drive and Rear Wheel drive, FL to RR, FR to RL, RL to FL and RR to FR.

3. Change all tyres together - same brand, same profile unless you opt for staggered when any one of them with surface getting close to the wear indicator button.

Safe tyres, safe roads!

1) not true bro, it depends on the drive you have

I thought tire dealers usually have a couple of sets of used tires that are not badly worn of course. some are actually quite new and are evenly worn as a set. It's cheaper dan a new set and would last you a year.

I LoL when I see that you have a mix of new and bald tires. WTF man? I dunno what you are thinking but good luck to you and if you can try not drive on the roads as you endanger other road users too.

Front or rear wheel drive irregardless... front tyres always get worn first. This is from 1st hand experience.

For TS case most of the traction and braking is provided by front wheels and will almost certainly be last change since 1 year left. Die die should be new tyres in the FRONT!

Oops you are right on 1 too when changing only 2, which I am not big fan of. Apologies, I was carried away with the rotation.

First para is true. Front tyres go faster always. But with tyre rotation you can even out the wear and tear. For any reason only 2 tyres are changed, put the new ones at rear always!

Last mon I had a sidewall puncture . Immed changed both rear. Same type!

Tyres barely 10k. Mine is rwd so more wear tear there

If people willing to stinge on such things drive by all means but if you die, do so alone and not drag others on the road with you

To TS

To save money, u can request the tyre shop to sketch again the tyre so u can get to see the tread again. It provides good traction and as good as new. Better than staying bald. At most tyre explode but wont skid la.

Ok jk, get second hnd tyre with 70-80% tread left. Nexen or goodyear or westlake is cheap. Maybe cost half as compared to $90 per piece

I last month has a crack in sidewall. Then i replace all 4 tyres and rim lol

Because the rim also got crack abit but i wont risk. Moreover mine on low profile 20", so replacing two tyres is akin of getting 4 new 17" tyre

like many have pointed out, your assumption is wrong.

my car wear faster at the rear and it is safer to have newer tyre behind too.

Every 15 days too xiong... I usually check once a month together with pumping petrol, and also a few days after the car is washed so not so much brake dust
