Manual states premium petrol which equates to RON95.

But if you mod, then RON98 ba

Saw it a few times at CTE, but was driving so din manage to snap a pic.

Ya it's very cute

TOJ,

Check with u. Does the ur car has different bhp for different grade of fuel? since similar engines.

Some cars (turbo) are running at detuned ecu parameters when ron95 is detected to prevent pings. eg FXT 95 vs 97 has different bhp (150+ vs 170+ on dyno, stocked)

I am suspecting maybe this happened for Harrier turbo. Hence we kpkb when we went test drive

@carhorn I would think all ECUs are programmed the same way, ie detune when lower RON fuel is detected

Frankly I don't know, cos I have not dynoed my car.

But these power torque figures shouldn't matter much in normal daily driving.

I believe only at high loads (tuned or modded cars, WOT, fully loaded etc) when the engine needs to work more will the higher Ron level matter.

Ron aside, the different fuel additives in each grade/brand of petrol may influence the performance too.

Need at least 97 since its a turbo car. 95 for NA ok.

Turbo car can run happily on 95Ron. In fact, 91Ron also can. NA car on the other hand, need V-Power to feel any slight difference

Wish I can go but I've got meetings scheduled.

I'm guessing 7.9 to 8.2 seconds since there's 2 pax and the weather may be hot, and the fuel tank may be full.

Paper spec should be 7.5 which is not far from NX Turbo.

[thumbsup]  [thumbsup]

I asked the Borneo SE what is the 0-100 timing and she said they don't have the official timing but it is "around 8 secs"

For those still wondering about butt feel of H vs F. I don't recall feeling that diff but here's my simple hypothesis:

1. F has slightly higher power rating and lower curb weight by 60kg based on specs. You try your own car with and without pax and see if there's any diff.

2. Test car H was fresh off. Doubt test car F was as new, forgot to check odo.

Bros, The RON numbers is already a grading to the petrol grade. Here in Singapore, it is not like some countries that do not check. I have a friend in the industry that tells me the Gov will have all these checked. Just like the V-power must not give people some false advertisement.

As for the different RON rating, I do experiment out that the car really does gives you different mileage over a full tank. This translate to how much power the RON rating can give you. Of course it also translate to how hard you have to step on the accelerator to compensate the power given out.

Given many people does not feel it that much are ppl how do not care. As for turbo and non turbo......it may be how the ECU is reacting also towards the pedal reaction altogether with the petrol inside.....Someone need to go ask BM...haha.

As for my suggestion is FXT and H (one is 7.5 sec and the other 7.3 sec).....wait till one day both on the road then cheong and see who better, or better still, do it 2 times, switch the drivers and do it again.....haha.

Please don't take me seriously, I am just making a light moment out of it.

Bro, Agree with you.....there will be a need to have apple to apple comparison......however, some will like the behaviour of 6At and some will like CVT. At the same time, I think FXT's AWD is for those who really want that kind of handling as I had tried AWD, it was quite awesome at some point.

This I must really give the thumbs up for AWD although I had my unhappy times with MI for almost 2 years.

a bit OT, but on my EA888 1.8T on stage 1, dynoed at 200hp,300Nm, i still use esso 95. No diff compared to 98 or vpower. Thus, i think HT can also use 95. just follow the min ron grade on fuel cap.

Sure bo?

Just last week I was in a third world country and their highest grade is 95 onli.

Singapore first world country musg use 98.

:D

Jokes aside I think our RON calculation is different, like our 92 is actually similar to US 89.

Hi bros, I have a different question here, not about power/speed. Is it good to do paint protection on new car? If yes, any good one recommended?

Bro, track back my previous chat. I did the ceramic coating at CS2........I personally feel it is good to have coating as it take away the coating and keep the shine. Washing is also easy.

As for which one to do it. I am new to this too....our brothers can advise more.

Bro, engine output on HP and Torque maybe the same. But I think more fuel burnt.....hope others with more expertise can advice more.

92 is RON, in the US, 89 is PON(Pump Octane Number). It is an average between RON and MON. Do a google and you will find the explanation. But it is of no importance to consumer like us,just pump -> pay-> drive.

I just booked the Harrier Premium yesterday. We love the look, feel and drive of this turbo car. Very Spacious and comfortable ride with good NVH and silky smooth acceleration. Depreciation at $13k p.a. for this new model is very reasonable. So many buyers signing up for Harrier these 2 weeks, PI cars really get a knock out blow by the arrival of the turbo model by BM.
