Supercharged

Bro - Kah Motor- Honda, Inchape - Toyota/Lexus and Tang Chong - Nissan/Subaru - these agent have multiple properties. They are old regional company and even they close shop, they have huge amount of asset to be seize.

PI = Zero

BTW base on conversation with investigator officer (Police), there;s more than 38 different PI company cases already last 18 mths similar to mine. How many PI in Singapore? 150? 200?

So we talking about average near 20% crooks operating as PI. And these PI who folded, ran away with your money scotch free is now in business again using another relative /person name to start a new company.

If you buy 4D and Toto got 20% chance, seriously I don't need to work already. In other words if you buy from PI, there's a 20% chance you get screwed, you still want to buy from PI? I won't.

There are quite a few guys here who will swear it is low risk just because they managed to get their car from pi. Guess many ppl still like gambling and the thrill of beating the odds.

"It wouldn't happen to me" Syndrome: Optimism Bias

There are a variety of things in which we all think we are above average, including health, popularity, memory, attractiveness, and even academic and job performance.  In fact, there are so many things that we think we are good at that there is name for it: optimism bias.

Optimism bias is the belief that each of us is more likely to experience good outcomes and less likely to experience bad outcomes. The key to optimism bias is that we disregard the reality of an overall situation because we think we are excluded from the potential negative effects.

There are quite a few guys here who will swear it is low risk just because they managed to get their car from pi. Guess many ppl still like gambling and the thrill of beating the odds.

seen a few NX200T on the road and i kind of think it looks narrower from the back compared the the Harrier.

Somehow the Harrier's design shape grows more on you...

But the RX200T looks sharper and nicer than the NX200T

In terms of look RX definitely has the upper hand than NX.

Actually don't know but it's common complaint among Subaru owners and I haven't heard Toyota owner complain about this upselling

You sure BM don't play the upsell game?

Yes same service interval:

10k, 30k, 50k: cheaper

20k, 40k, 60k: the prices I posted.

Didn't realise it's so hefty for the turbo Harrier. Is it the same service interval?

You gotten your COE/car?

Two weeks ago I was told that if I ordered, the Harrier can be delivered closer to end of Dec, just wonder if so, meaning no more stock for year 2017?

Harrier will have VES surcharge from Jan 2018 according to SE.

I was told by SE that maybe can push for Nov once I secured COE (Guess BM has plan b put in place to order extra shipment). So fingers cross that early deliverycan be realised. FYI, Initial ETA quoted was DEC

Because most BM owners have 100% confidence  BM will never do such atrocities to them and in the event that they do, it will be of very justifiable reasons.

Even Lexus arm does it copiously.... albeit with nice breakfast and chauffeured rides.  :D

Like I said, Toyota buyers typically don't mod, don't have trouble with their cars, don't get rattles, defective parts, and service their cars diligently, many do so at Borneo, at least during the warranty period.

So once they have their cars, or have been lurking around long enough, they can now go out and enjoy their rides.

As you can see, out of the 400 or so buyers thus far very few will even be posting here.

The previous thread saw more action as there was plenty of PI related talk, how to translate Jap menus etc.

Here, it's buy, collect, drive..

Agreed x10000

For elegance model, can't decide on BM offer of 147K while PI offer of 130K, what's you view on BM or PI. Thanks.

BM for that commitment of delivery, warranty and service.

Definitely the PI is good business. Otherwise there won't be so many. They just wanna take money pass here pass there and pocket...fast game. They play to the limit and most of these jokers are the usual suspects aka neighbourhood mobile shop ppl....ex sim lim square operator etc...so risk is definitely high.

If 1 go dig....these PI usually are owned by few shared partners promising lots to customers and sales ppl.

In fact this whole automoblil business is like that....be very very careful.

Well - I don't think any PI here in SG practice $10K deposit for COE and pay rest of full payment/loan when the car is delivered. Most PI ask for 30~50% when they have your COE under their your name. Here is the catch and you can go validate with the Police

1. I pay $10K for COE to PI. PI ask a finance company to bid the COE for them. In fact the PI did not pay the finance company a cent and the dealing between them is like a loan.

2. PI Ask for 30~50% payment when they have your name on the COE

3. Upon collection, they ask for full payment + loan if any.

4. The PI I'm talking about is with Exodus Global - a huge PI at Ubi will all the top notch cars. I was more unfortunate then the rest of other victim, since most of them lost their 30~50% deposit (probably 40~50 of us)?

5. For me I was oversea for business when they call me and state the car is ready for collection. I ask my wife to issue a post date money order or cheque. She was heavily pregnant - delivering with the month and I was rushing work done to head back to Singapore to accompany her. She issue the cheque to the PI and they called her it bounced for whatever reason. Due to her condition, she did a TT transfer in full. I return back to SG that night and suppose to collect the car the next day morning. Went to Exodus Global and they stat some issue as Boss went oversea. - I started to smell a fish. I demand an answer and on that day (Sat) I called LTA and find my name not register at all.

6. Next Monday I went there to find the Owner of Exodus Global, he was hiding here and there but found him. He says he is in a finance situation and need cash to roll so tool my money for that. I demand he give back my $ or handle over the car.

7. I make police report and even went to Singapore court to see the judge.

8. They declare business closed

9. I gather around about 40~50 victim

10. The car he have on display don't belongs to him. It all comes from the big PI - I can even give you the names

11. He took the money$ and declare bankrupt. The Police and SG Judge says this is within the law, nothing wrong with that. Police still investigating since then till down and it's coming to A YEAR~!!!!!

12. I ask my friends to look out for ths PI owner and he opened another PI already last few months and he's probably getting cars from those few big PI.

13. I even received lawyer letter from finance company to pay them the $10K for the COE! Because exodus Global never pay them the money$ Although the COE is under my name, I cannot utlize the COE!!! I wrote to LTA and many of the victim approach the LTA and they don't what to do!!!! SO all our COE lapse and been confiscated by LTA!!

Tell me guys - ask yourself how much you knows about Singapore law and LTA? obviously the crooks knows all the f**king loop holes. I get so piss off when the judge told my 9 mths pregnant wife to get out as it's wasting his time. Singapore is a lost system...everyone jus wayang wayang..........bloody Ciao Chee Buy

BTW my friend who is my classmate has family who is one of the biggest PI in SG. his advice, don't buy from PI. He himself get his Porsche from agent!!!!

Ask yourself how much you knows about Singapore law and LTA before you buy from PI again! You don't know shit and that's why all the f**king stupid commends.

Very very sorry to hear that but you could have been more careful.

All these PI only need $1 to setup. Then ur money will be used to roll.

Big importer won't give them car if no $. No car they nothing to sell so lagi no $. But need to pay rental, staff and parking...after that he needs to pay his lifestyle...so very very risky.

The more popular PI cars are harrier and vezel, now that BM brought in harrier at that pricing, the PI harrier market is killed, PIs are left with vezel to sell with more PIs facing financial crunch.

Moving into 2018 and beyond when COE quota gets reduced further, all will need to be even more careful when dealing with PIs. Not all PIs are bad but it depends on who meet the bad PIs. While some PIs may not have the intention to cheat, when a company runs into financial crisis, the existance of the company will be beyond control of the business owner also.

PIs do bring in interesting cars. Without PIs, I wouldn't own the first two generations of RAV4 which were really good cars.

The servicing consumables for 2l turbo and NA should be similar right? Harrier servicing should be similar to Rav4 or Picnic, but looks like BM marking up opportunistically for margin recovery.

Yeah

Check carefully that a PI doesn't try to sell the same Harrier to a few different buyers..

there's no way to check, unless u have spy within the PI

Dynax clarified that it's the "evens" intervals. I remember seeing the Lexus IS 200t's fee and it wasn't so high, but that's for the "odds" intervals.

Correct.

The "odd" intervals 10k, 30k, 50k is $360 - it's pegged to Previa and Vellfire.

Camry "odd" is $275
Altis "odd" is $253

Definitely servicing package price would have some correlation to car purchase price.
It's not cost-based pricing, it's wallet tolerance-based pricing...just like the price of water/Coke in a restaurant.
