Why is there a need to raise 30k??? Correct me if I am wrong

1. Your wife sell the car to your at 35K

2. You take up a new loan amount of 35k

3. After settle outstanding loan amount 30k, your wife still get back 5k

Just need to pay some admin $$$ to middle man or engage sgcarmart to settle for you

Market value of car is $64K, why sell $35K? TS should buy at $64K from wife, bank loan (70%) $48K, pay wife $35K, self pocket $13K.

anw, 3 yr ago, the COE is quite powerful.

Wow there are some seriously high moral ground folks here. Don't need to set standards and impose on others please.

Yes that's right.  [thumbsup]

Just because don't have as much money as other

if we want to drive a car we should.

Its our money and we should spend it how we like.

Some people keep saying its a problem. I don't see

it as a problem and even if its a problem its our problem.

:D

Actually buying the car is the solution.

No car no job no job no income.

So buying the car solves the problem.

Take the job first but don't claim transport allowance.

Pay the petrol from your salary.

After confirmation take any loan you want and buy any car you like since you say it's a good job.

Btw you say you had good job worked 15 years but don't have 30k in the bank.

Your motto is YOLO? You spend all your money on clothes, holidays, fine dining?

I have frens who own boutiques, travel companies and bistros who would love to meet you.

Don't be so mean lah. Later they bad moouth mcf all rich background. Than we become kidnapping target. Hahaha

To TS: if what you said are genuine I would advise talk to your superior or HR on the transfer of car ownership. The company can even chip in to help you. No need to worry about 30k here 30k there. Remember they employ you due to your expertise or talk talk skill. I am sure they will value your contribution. If the company don't trust you how would they let you sell their product. Transfer of ownership is very simple. Your company offer transport allowamces so your delimma not the first time to them. Talk to them.

Actually buying the new car is the problem, due to TS unfortunate circumstances where he don't have 30k in the bank for early redemption of his loan, yet he think of switching to new car.

The best approach would be to sell off his Vezel now for approx 65k, then pay off the loan of 30k, leaving him with 35k cash. Instead of buying a new car, he should buy a temporary used car.

Here is a decent Kia cerato forte for 18k, can drive for another 16 months.

http://www.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/info.php?ID=701643&DL=1149

If want to save a bit more, a decent Suzuki swift for 16k with 16 months left.

http://www.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/info.php?ID=709846&DL=1288

Pay up full cash for the car in his name, now he can take up the job and get his car allowances and transport claim. Once job is confirmed and stable, can choose to sell his temporary car and upgrade to new car.

Meanwhile he can have 15k savings in his bank so he don't need to lead the yolo life.

I think we are all barking up the wrong tree. To the rest of us we know we mean well, but seems like TS chooses to think the way he does.

But Who knows, maybe he really does not have 30k in cash, but has money tied up somewhere else that is not so liquid?

I think TS is looking at all the options that many people here is offering and looks at the best way to suit his needs.

What he thinks here may not be the only solution he has put into action, based on our inputs. Sp,e ideas here may give his some other arrangements.

Yes so I have chosen not to harp on his lack of savings, but offering my suggestion to make the best out of it. New car is really a stretch given the circumstances. Priority is to secure the job with a car under his name so he can get transport allowances, and a 20k used car is his best bet.
