IMHO escooter pmd bicycle etc should at least buy comprehensive insurance in order to protect all road users if something arises:)

 

Hopefully this is made compulsory cos too many accidents happened and left unresolved

 

After all the faults and blames always push to motorists even the eScooter rider not obeying the traffic rules

 

Driving in SG is already so stressful and expensive and yet still have to bear unfair treatment

 

The most common sight is they just dash out from nowhere and if you lucky to avoid them

 

Unlucky face the unfair music

 

So many heavily modified ones are ferrying 2 to 3 people...really dangerous

imo there is no need for TS to start thread just for this video. as drivers we do feel frustrated sometimes but we have to be gracious and careful especially when they have not broken any traffic rules.

when the real tour de france cut from 1st lane to 3rd lane,

first, the road is cordoned off no other road users

second, there are safety cars behind to ensure other vehicles do not cut into the lanes of the cyclists

third there are traffic ushers to wave flags to signal

 

when our 'tour de france' wannabes cut from 1st lane to 3rd lane,

first, they cause other vehicles to slow down

second, there are no signal lights on their bikes to show their intention to change lanes

third, there are no traffic ushers to wave flags to early-warning other road users

 

btw you cannot compare other road users eg old lady walking across the road

because the old lady do not have a choice but need to cross the road

 

do these cyclist have a choice not to cycle in the day time or at busy roads?

During OCBC cycle, roads are closed for competitive event.

 

There is also road marshal to escort the last cyclist.

 

I believe you are old enough to know that there is hand signal.

Visibility is a must.

 

I don be a hero wearing black in the wee hours of morning. I wear white or bright colors. Blinkers and lights are very important too. I always have two for rear and one for front even in daylight. A small investment in good blinkers can save your life.

 

I do not know how safe is pink helmet.. maybe i should get one in future. I had 3 cracked helmet from my crashes.. maybe a pink one helps
