Just encountered this cyclist

Don think he is reckless..

he is in the safe lane and did show his intention to go straight by raising his hand out.

This is a left turn and go straight lane, furthermore the cyclist show his intention to go straight and also wave thanks to the cam car. I don't see any reckless here..

Overtaking like that is reckless, imo.

How did the  cyckist know the driver saw him???

Maybe driver look away to right to check something and then speed up.

OK perhaps driver shouldn't do that but it happens and cyclist will be thinking to himself 'well I did raise my arm'.  Too late then to reconsider.

Did you signal? The front car din and the cyclist might assume all going straight.

Of course if there's an accident, he would be the only one in pain doesn't matter who is right.

Ok i Did signal my Left Turn signal even during red light.

I was nearly going to horn him but last min thot.. Ok silence is golden.

If my car was a big kong king lorry doing a left turn.. Maybe different outcome liao. AMDK shouldnt take for granted that driver should gave way to him mah.. Sigh

I agree. It was night time, where generally vision is poorer. Really silly to assume and take things for granted.

His hand capable of blasting away a Dyna, or Fuso or any King Kong??

That's why sometimes when turning, i keep as left as possible. To prevent such cyclists/motorbikes/what nots from giving me a scare...

Frankly, this cyclist should be lauded as a model for others to follow.

If only every cyclist can be as clear in their signalling as he was.

He signalled clearly. He probably knows that there is a chance that he might encounter a reckless driver that didn't see him but chose to take the risk. Don't think that is considered reckless la.

I think the cam driver is saying this because the Pedestrian light is "RED MAN"..

Well, some cyclists just like to use whatever light to their advantage.

When i cycle on the road i follow and obey lights for the cars.

So in this case he is not in the wrong.

Strava? Not all of them cycle for exercise only. Most cycle as a hobby. Just happens that it is a form of exercise.

Yup. But at least only put themselves at risk since they are on bicycles. Just as stupid as those drivers who don't keep a safe distance of 2s when following behind another car. They'll learn their lesson one day anyway. They haven't rear ended anyone yet, but they will one day if they continue doing it.
