Didn't know there was an exception on children under 12, affixed with carrier. I will still choose pavement if I am riding with my kid on the bike. 😅 Edited April 5, 2021 by Atonchia

Lethalstrike Turbocharged April 5, 2021 Share April 5, 2021 (edited) Grabfood PABs/PMDs are supposedly regulated, plated and educated of the proper road usage. Blatant riding on the expressway with self-sabo video to prove, a prime example of what a black sheep can do to the majority of the law abiding users of such mobility devices. Out of a bunch of Grabfood deliverers, there's bound to be a few goondus. And everyone will focus on these goondus and condemn the other law abiding ones. This goondu certainly deserves some serious punishment. His PAB has a number plate he also boh chup. If authorities want to impose licensing, plates and insurance on all bicycles, they better make damn sure they have the resources to enforce and regulate properly, else nothing changes. If not, its just simply making it more prohibitive for the other 9 to earn an honest living from Grabfood, which many had already disposed off their PABs/PMDs and switch to the conventional bicycle due to the past PMD regulation fiasco.

They can do their hypermilling slipstreaming stunts behind Gojiras and Kongs, savour delicious and authentic asia foods along the way, go up highlands for 85% fresh air... ICA you hear me... faster make one dedicated lane for cyclists at both check points.

When you said you don't approve leisure cycling or driving if there is no meaningful purpose towards nation building or GDP contribution, that's a quite extreme already. So drivers no longer allowed to enjoy a cool evening drive for their new rides? Wah jialat man 🤪 Example, if we see a cyclist wearing Spandex and riding expensive road bike during peak hours on weekdays, my auto assumption is that he's a b**tard holding everyone up. But he may be cycling to work, have a change of clothes at his office, then contribute to GDP. But I get what you are trying to say, ultimately. It's those errand cyclists who abused the rules in the name of leisure cycling are F up. This I agree with you.

Honestly, i do not wish or need the road cyclist to pay for any road tax or whatever. I just wish they are regulated, have " something identifiable " be it a number plate or a personalised vest with an identification number / tag, and of course some form of prior verification that they know our road regulation.

In the example you witnessed along Woodlands, it's obvious where your "matter of principle" lies. It's not about using the roads for leisure or for work, it's about responsibility and obeying the law. In short, you already agreed that if leisure cycling or commuting to work is done with proper respect to other road users and the law, its fine even though you might still be a little uncomfortable that they get to share the roads, because of the presence ignorant black sheeps among the cycling community. We can debate this till cows come home, let's see how Ong Ye Kung is going to address the problem. Or as Phluvcat mentioned, once borders opened and travelling is allowed, many of those who just taken up cycling during COVID might just stop cycling altogether since its a 三分钟热度 phenomenon, and the AMDKs can finally boat over to Bintan or Malaysia to ride and train to their hearts content.
