IMHO.
4G variants for my MVNOs like Zym and Heya can easily go above 100 Mbps.
Record for me for Singtel is close to 500 Mbps.
Maybe nowadays too crowded,    so hard to reach 1000 Mbps.

This is quite in line with my experience for 4G.

I would love to see Simba included. 🤔

Before we start comparing speed, I think there's something to learn about 5G. There's SA (standalone), NSA (non-standalone), Auto, modes.

So to compare apple-to-apple speed, must know this techie stuff. 😁

For different phones, they may need to be set differently... google how to.

This one is for Xiaomi/Poco

My Samsung enabled for SA.  But so far only manage to connect to NSA.  🤔

Thanks to increased competition, we now have cheaper plans. 👍

Many people would do well just to get a no-contract SIM only plan from MVNO, unless of cuz somebody else is paying your bills.

I had previously switched over to zero1 from SIMBA. Now I'll get a SIMBA Seniors Go plan to test out their 5G. It's cheap enough at $5. 😄

so SIMBA all good for you all over the island? or still some dead spots.

Haven't really got a chance to try 5G yet, as I'm still using zero1 on my other phone.

The last time I quit Simba was bcuz of internet problem around Jurong East. Could that be due to their 5G installation/commisioning?, I'm not sure. At that time,4G dead spot was around Mandai/BKE and a small area near Yishun Ave 1. Generally, not a big issue.

Anyone can advise how does 5G work with roaming?

A) I am on a 5G enable plan in Sg, using a 5G phone, and I travel to a 5G capable country e.g. Japan. Will I connect to 5G in that country?

B) I am on 4G plan in Sg, but using a 5G phone, and I travel to a 5G capable country e.g. Japan. Will I connect to 5G in that country?

Digging around on Singtel it seems to imply I need to be on 5G plan first i.e. scenario A, but this 5G roaming specific info is hard to find for the MVNOs.

I see.. So 4g is still M1.. But for 5G they use Starhub..  Think they realize how shitty M1 is, by not sticking with M1 5G

My household got one SingTel direct on Samsung flagship and another on SingTel MVNO on Samsung budget of the budget.
The 5G on the budget was faster !   🤣
Need to do more experiments. 🤣

I am quite disappointed with M1's Maxx over its poor internet.

Thinking of changing.  Would Heya be a better choice?

IMHO.
Either is a connectivity or bandwidth issue.
If you can "tolerate" the top-up of Heya,  it is a good choice.
I get quite consistent bandwidth.

P.S.  I have 4x Heya.
