Let's make buying a car cheap

and driving it expensive.

The young car enthusiasts all can have a car but never drive it cos too ex!

Then they cannot say Rocky Road Ice Cream Ahead: The Tough Realities for today’s young Car Enthusiasts in Singapore

I think all these guys read MCF 🤣

https://www.channelnewsasia.com/commentary/high-coe-prices-vehicles-cars-tax-usage-distance-3483516

All good but this one wont be good:

How dealers gonna mask their high premium and earn their phat loan commissions lidat??? 😭

Solution has fundamental flaws.. the thought process is not end to end and a used case for driving carlite.

if u implement a WFH for companies to comply with ESG initiatives with tax write off,  you would ideally help to reduce transport usage and improve on the population boom .

but do you dare to do this? Because u ideally cut off your size of the golden goose..

I think distance-based charging would have a lot of issues and implications down the line.

Privacy is one thing (you're effectively being tracked everywhere you go), but there's also fairness in implementation. Say for example, you drive from Jurong East to Tuas South, which is quite a distance but likely to be relatively traffic free. Do you pay more or less than someone who drives from, say, Clementi to CBD (shorter distance but more congested)?

My guess 20%.

Maybe more retrenchments coupled with increased quota 😂

I think those who had wanted to wait until 2024 will go in soon, cos the supply bump is no longer going to happen in 2024.

My prediction for next week is $8k - $10k lower for Cat A and $5k lower for Cat B. And June 1st bidding will rise back to current levels

With many unhappy about PHCs with strong financial backing fighting for limited COEs, the latest announcement (of bringing forward deregistered COE in the next few quarters) is more like opening a window for PHCs to put more PHV on the road without causing further spike in premium.

Then after another 3 - 4 quarters, after LTA is done with their "monitoring", new measures will be implemented to bring down COE premium, which by then is almost at the end of the tunnel of COE draught, and GE due. Claim credit and move on for the next 5 years...

These seems to be what's written on the wall when I read the announcement, yet many are cheering and hoping for the price to plunge. All these while whatever measures rolled out by LTA has been missing the elephant in the room. If you look deeper at LTA statistics, you would have see much more than what our mini$ter$ are trying to paint (you don't need to be a scholar, just a pair of analytical eyes and some critical thinking)

don think will plunge but maybe correction like stock market.. maybe a 10k or 20k down.. but if one rush in becos of 10k or 20k then maybe need to seriously thinking abt buying car..

mkt had changed.. not just abt COE quota.. but the wealth gap had widen which support this price..

It’s a matter of not upsetting the buyers.. because once u police the policy it means financial fraud … n the public will be upset that the g men took upon themselves to punish the weak for letting the family use it.. loose loose loose situation

Rise in COE premium

- not due to PHV companies

- not due to the rich influx

Then??

I mentioned before, my bro friend drive for a China family and that one family alone has 7 cars. Do your calculation when there’s at least a few hundred of this type of family.
